Being a Mah Jong fan I am always keen to play the game wherever I go, and carrying a set of bone and bamboo tiles around is, I’m sure you’ll agree, often not the most practical solution. So why not play instead with cards? The Mah Jong Set This set contains 144 small cards, including seasons and flowers, and an extra 8 jokers. I have simply used the set as presented in the Windows TrueType Mah Jong font freely available from http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/ ~mn8y-kt/font/mahj_tt.zip This produces a clean, simple and universal design and also more importantly keeps the file size to a minimum. Given the limitation of the font all seasons and flowers are identical, distinguished by numbers and colours. Format As TrueType fonts can only be displayed in one colour I have adopted the following colour scheme — with thanks to Tom Sloper for keeping me right. Bamboo — Green Dots — Black Characters — Red Winds — Blue Dragons — as dragon Seasons — Black Jokers — Brown

How to print your Mah Jong Cards I have reproduced only one of each card on the following pages. This means that for an entire Mah Jong set you will have to print each page the following number of times:
