With the new DXi13 engine and power ratings of up to 500 hp, Renault Magnum reasserts its position in the forefront of the long-distance market. The DXi13 applies its power, torque and matchless punch to giving you the best possible journey times: reaching 90% of its full capacity in under two seconds. It delivers a power rating of 500 hp – with maximum torque – over an exceptionally broad range of engine speeds: 2,450 Nm from 1,050 to 1,400 rpm.

Renault Magnum also stands out for its low consumption: high supercharged pressure, high compression rate and precision injection combine to produce particularly efficient combustion, reducing consumption by as much as 5% compared with the average for Euro 3 vehicles.

To ensure you always have the power rating to match your needs, the DXi13 is available in 2 power ratings: • Power rating: 460 hp / 339 kW 1,400 to 1,800 rpm Torque: 2,300 Nm 1,050 kW at 1,400 rpm • Power rating: 500 hp / 368 kW at 1,400 to 1,800 rpm Torque: 2,450 Nm 1,050 kW at 1,400 rpm.

Latest generation Optidriver+ robotised gearbox

Mechanical gearboxes with tried and tested efficiency

Lighter, more compact and quieter (by 2 dB), the new Optidriver+ gearbox, with controls mounted on the steering wheel, provides even faster gearshifts, coupled with optimal comfort and mobility under all circumstances.

Reknowned for their smooth gearshifts and efficiency, the ZF mechanical gearboxes get the best out of the DXi13 engine: • ZF 16 S 2320 TD (16.41/1) • ZF 16 S 2520 TO (13.8/0.84).

At every moment – including startup - Optidriver+ takes load, gradient, engine mapping and powertrain into account when engaging the most appropriate gear, as well as requests for acceleration or deceleration made by the driver. Constantly optimising engine use for maximum efficiency, Optidriver+ not only reduces consumption (by 3% on average), but also extends the engine’s working life. The compact and lightweight Optidriver+ gearbox is 60 kg lighter than mechanical gearboxes, thereby contributing to higher payloads. The Optidriver+ gearbox is always linked with Optibrake.

Hugging the road whatever the situation, Renault Magnum gives you totally reliable and accurate handling via design features that make peace of mind a priority at all times: • Chassis in high resistance steel • Modular distribution of suspended units (fuel tank, battery, etc.) to meet the varied needs of different customers • Excellent directional stability • A load capacity of 8 tonnes on the front with parabolic or air suspension (saving 40 kg) • Outstanding stability on super-elevated surfaces and excellent travel provided by the 2-cushion rear air suspension fitted as standard.

The Renault Magnum has a centralised braking system controlling the engine brake, exhaust brake, retarders and service brakes - offering exceptional safety with 7 m/s deceleration where official standards only require 5 m/s. • All disc brakes • New generation EBS 5 • Emergency braking assistance • Hill start assistance • ABS and anti-skidding • ESP, Electronic Stability Programme (on solo rigid and 4 x 2 tractor) • Comprehensive offer of hydraulic retarders linked to the braking system for greater comfort and safety (with automatic cutout on acceleration or ABS engagement, automatically restored by the EBS system which detects road grip conditions).

The exclusive Renault Trucks dashboard incorporates the digital speed readout into the central revcounter display, supplying essential information at a glance.
