THEME PARKS
Every day Madrid welcomes thousands of visitors that come not only to see for its monuments, exhibitions and museums, but also to enjoy its entertainment scene. Entertainment is also a main attraction and it can be found anywhere. There are a great number of leisure parks offering a wealth of activities. Located here and there in the region, they include theme parks, amusement parks and water parks. We can also increase our knowledge in parks dedicated to nature or by gazing at the stars, and we can enjoy a different Madrid if we take a cable car or do some skiing. The Community of Madrid has become one of the Spanish provinces with the highest number of first-class theme parks. So we can enjoy unforgettable days with our family or friends. Loads of leisure and fun.

aquopolis The best thing to do when the summer comes is to combine water, sun, the open air and fun in a water park. Water, as the driver of attractions, moves visitors on through exciting and unexpected surprises - opaque slides with turns, bends, falls and inclines, and for very sporting visitors, areas full of plenty of activities. And for those that wish to take a break, swimming pools with sea-like rolling waves.

safari m adrid Based on a project designed by Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, this nature reserve is a different way of seeing animals in danger of extinction. Animals do not suffer from the effect of captivity since they have vast natural spaces that resemble their natural habitat. Hence, the high reproduction levels, without any artificial manipulation. Safari Madrid offers visitors the opportunity to see wild animals living in freedom. From the visitor's own vehicle or a pneumatic train, a great variety of animals can be seen at close quarters, many of them sharing the space with other species typical of their eco-system. Apart from giraffes, bears or lions, the safari park also has reptile and insect sections. In summer, visitors can use a swimming pool to fight the warm temperatures. It is located next to a giant slide and a circuit track for karts. Address

T H E P L A N E TA R I U M Its main objective is to disseminate Astronomy and Science from two standpoints: one educational and one informative, always geared at promoting both disciplines among school students and the public at large. Bearing that purpose in mind, the Planetarium also has several rooms adapted in the course of time to fulfil different purposes. Madrid's Planetarium is found at a height of 600 metres, which makes it an ideal vantage point for visitors to have a panoramic view of a great part of the city. For the multi-media projections held in the main room of the Planetarium, there is a multi-vision system consisting of 100 slide projectors that cover the whole cupola in images and thus produce a panoramic effect, a single hemispherical image enwrapping it all, and there is also the possibility of projecting on any area on the cupola.
