M-ALMITE SEALER (Sealing Agent for Low Temperature Anodized Aluminum Coating )
PROPERTIES Appearance :
Light green powder
Principal components :
nickel acetate, organic additives
OPERATING CONDITIONS
Concentration Ph Temperature Time
Normal 7 g/L 6.0 60 ℃ 15min
Range 3.5 g/L~10.5 g/L 6.0 ± 1.0 60 ℃~98 ℃ 10~30min
SOLUTION MAKE-UP 1. Add 7g of M-ALMITE SEALER per 1 liter of water. 2. M-ALMITE SEALER is prepared in advance to allow pH of the solution to remain at about 5.6 when it is made up, although the pH value may slightly vary with the quality of water used. 3, When the pH value of the water used is over 8, adjust it to be about 6 before the addition of M-ALUMITE SEALER by adding diluted acetic acid to the water. 4. In adding M-ALUMITE SEALER, add it either a little at a time. or In the from of solution in which it has been dissolved in advance. Give sufficient agitation to the solution to permit M-ALMITE SEALER to be well dissolved. Afterward leave the solution for a while for aging, which allows the bath to maintain uniformity and stability. 5. The sealing tank should be of stainless steel or other inert materials.
BATH CONTROL 1 , Concentration: 1, The concentration ranges available are 3.5 – 10.5 g/lit. and the optimum on is 7 g/lit. 2. A higher concentration generally increases the corrosion resistance and sealing efficiency, But the excess tends to cause precipitations and smut or to increase the consumption by drag-out. 3. With the concentration of M-ALMITE SEALER below 3.5 g/lit., the corrosion resistance and sealing efficiency reduce. Add then M-ALMITE SEALER at a rate of about 3.5 g/lit. 4. The control of the concentration should be performed in principle by means of analysis for the Nickel.
2, PH of Bath 1, The PH of the sealing bath should be maintained between 5.0 and 6.0 and preferably at 6.0 ± 1.0. The control of PH in important, and a daily check should be made. 2. The value of PH, when lower than 5.0, causes the corrosion resistance and sealing efficiency to reduce and hence adjust it to maintain the proper value by means of diluted ammonium hydroxide solution, sodium acetate, etc. 3. A higher PH than 6.0 is liable to produce precipitations and to cause powdering. Diluter acetic acid is available for adjustment of the proper PH. 4. The corrosion and acid – resistance tend to rise as the PH of the bath increases.
