Neil Alden Armstrong (Born on August 5, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio) was NASA astronaut and first man to step on the moon in the Apollo 11 mission. Armstrong developed great interest in flying at the age of just two years, when his father took him to the National Air Races Ohio. On March 16, 1966 flew its first mission in space as commander of Gemini 8, with David Scott. As commander of Apollo 11, steered the first mission to the moon, Armstrong won the distinction of being the first person to set foot and landing on the lunar surface. On July 16, 1969, Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin E. "Buzz" Aldrin began their journey to the moon. As commander of Apollo 11, Armstrong and lunar module pilot managed a safe landing on the lunar surface. At 2:56:20. Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon and delivered his famous phrase: "It's a small step for a man, but a giant leap for mankind".

Armstrong desarrolló un gran interés en que volaba a la edad de tan sólo dos años, cuando su padre lo llevó a la Nacional del Aire Razas Ohio.
