CSIP The Canadian Society of Immigration Practitioners EXPRESS POST

URGENT August 29th 2008

Honorable Mrs. Diane Finley, RE: IMMIGRATION CONSULTANTS HOUSE OF COMMONS INVESTIGATION DECISION Honorable Minister, As Chairperson of the Canadian Society of Immigration Practitioners,( CSIP), regrouping over 9,000 members worldwide in good standing, I am extremely concerned to hear from the media, that an election call by the Prime Minister is scheduled for September 5, 2008. As we are aware, you are scheduled to deliver your decision address on the recommendations before the House of Commons on October 10, 2008, which might enter into conflict with the election call date. Because of the gravity of this situation which will surely create additional pressures on an already taxed immigration system and industry, and the general upheaval to occur if a decision is not announced as promised to them, may I intervene on behalf of the consultancy industry, so that you and your Cabinet find a dignified and fair procedure to respond to thousands of consultants only waiting to go to work honestly, after starving for many years, I would greatly appreciating being informed of your intentions in this matter, so that I may reassure my members accordingly. I also remain at your disposal for complimentary information Yours very truly,
