Significance Al Baqarah 2:165

Yet there are men who take (for worship) others besides Allah as equal (with Allah); they love them as they should love Allah. But those of faith are overflowing in their love for Allah. If only the unrighteous could see behold they would see the penalty that to Allah belongs all power and Allah will strongly enforce the penalty.

Significance Al Tauba 9:24

9:24 Say: If it be that your fathers your sons your brothers your mates or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline; or the dwellings in which ye delight are dearer to you than Allah or His apostle or the striving in his cause; then wait until Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious. Consequences of having more love for someone other than Allah One who has more love for his kin shall not preferentially obey Allah. He will not strive in Allah’s cause and will fear death. More love of wealth will bring more greed. It leads to miserliness and falling into forbidden dealings like riba. More love of land will bring prejudice, divisions, fights.

Al Maida 5:54 O ye who believe! if any from among you turn back from his faith soon will Allah produce a people whom He will love as they will love Him lowly with the believers mighty against the rejecters fighting in the way of Allah and never afraid of the reproaches of such as find fault. That is the Grace of Allah which He will bestow on whom He pleases: and Allah encompasses all and He knows all things. Aisha ® reported, Prophet (SAW) Appointed a man as imam and he used to conclude his recitation with Ikhlas. Prophet asked him why he did so. He replied that this Surah contains attributes of Allah and he loved to recite it. Prophet then told the people, “ Tell him that Allah loves him.” ( Bukhari and Muslim)

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet said When Allah loves a servant, He calls out Jibril and says: “ I love so and so; so love him.” Then Jibril loves him. After that he (Jibril) announces to the inhabitants of heavens that Allah loves so and so; so love him. Then the inhabitants of heaven ( angels) also love him and then make people of the earth love him. Bukhari and Muslim.

Love for the sake of Allah Prophet said: “Allah shall ask on the Day of Judgment; ‘Where are those who loved for the sake of my greatness? Today, when there is no shade, I shall keep them in my shade.’ Muslim. Prophet was asked “ When shall come the Day of Judgment?” He asked him: “ What preparation have you made for the Day?” The man said,” Nothing but I love Allah and His messenger.” The Prophet replied: “ You shall be with whom you love.” Bukhari
