Fellowship of the ring.
About The Fellowship of the Ring opens with a going away/birthday party for Bilbo’s 111th birthday. Bilbo gives his special ring to his his cousin Frodo Baggins. When the time comes to part with the ring Bilbo becomes reluctant to do so. He gives up the ring only from the urging of his friend Gandalf the Grey a great Wizard. Gandalf thinks that the ring is the One Ring of legend. After confirming his suspicions he tells Frodo that the Ring must be taken away from the Shire and be destroyed.
Purpose Before The Lord of the Rings J.R.R Tolkien served in the British Army during the First World War he had to put his writing on hold. On his return back to England he resumed his writing laying down the foundations of what would become Middle Earth based aopn the hardships that he had to encounter throughout the first world war.
Opinion I have never read the lord of the Rings before but I have watched the movies and loved them. Although I was sometimes confused at what was going on at times after reading the first book everything makes more sense. So my opinion is to read the books before the movie.
Strategy The number 1 strategy used in this book was imagery. Personally it was unbelievable how tolkien would use his words to put images into the reader's mind.
Overall I recommend reading 100%
