What is Light? Light is a form of energy that helps us to see the objects. Without light we are unable to explore the beautiful nature. The

As shown in the above figure when we glow a source of light, it travels in a straight line.
As we know that light travels in straight line, so when light falls on a surface of an object (Ball in this case),
a part of light is reflected, transmitted & absorbed by an object. As in figure 1, when light falls on the ball, some part of light is absorbed & transmitted by the ball & a part is reflected by the ball which appears as the shadow of the ball. Shadow of Object is the most important feature of light as size of shadow depends upon the distance between light & an object. When distance b/w the two is more then shadow appears to be large & vice – versa as depicted in the figure.
When white light falls on glass prism it disperses in to seven colors forming
VIBGYOR.
These are the 3 basic properties of light which forms the foundation of several researches.
