2009 PRESQUE ISLE YACHT CLUB LIFT RULES BREAKING THESE RULES OR ANY OTHER POSTED RULES MAY BE CAUSE FOR MEMBERSHIP LOSS AS OUTLINED IN ARTICLES VII AND X OF THE PRESQUE ISLE YACHT CLUB CONSTITUTION 1. Only authorized personnel (those persons listed as such on the bulletin board) will be permitted to operate the lift and yard equipment. No operation of the lift will be permitted unless another adult an authorized ground guide is present with authorized personnel. Those authorized persons shall have complete control over the lift and any safety issues. 2. All unauthorized personnel, adults and children, tampering with the lift or yard equipment will first receive a letter of warning and for the second offense will be brought before the board of directors. 3. All lifting of boats, other than emergency, will be subject to the Dockmaster or his authorized representative. All boat owners must fill out a waiver before boats will be lifted. The waiver will be good for one calendar year only. 4. The use of the lift, yard equipment, and lift well will be under the direction of the Dockmaster. Any member who wishes to operate the club’s heavy equipment must first attend the required safety

classes, demonstrate proficiency and be certified by the Dockmaster or equipment safety officer. 5. The owner of the boat will assume all responsibilities. Either he or his representative, and crew must be present at the time of the lift, either in or out of the water. The lift operator may refuse to lift a boat if the owner and sufficient crew are not present. 6. A non-member boat may be lifted on approval of the bridge officers, and after the required waiver is signed. The fee for lift-out is $3.00 per foot. The fee for temporary dry land storage is $5.00 per day (maximum of 30 days). The fee for lift-in is $3.00 per foot. 7. All active members are entitled to free emergency lifts. Time in lift not to exceed 18 hours. 8. Boats are not to exceed the capacity of the lift. Charlie Miller Rear Commodore Approved by Board: January 27, 2009
