[email protected] As an engineer and computer scientist I have lived a life of logic and calculation. Now, in semi-retirement, I float between that world and my newly discovered world of art. My art instructors have shown me how to see with an artist’s eye and taught me the ‘tools’ of the trade. To my surprise it’s all about rule of composition, analysis of value and color and seeing what is in front of my eyes with understanding – art or science? Now I am ready for my first solo show “Passion for Portraits.” Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Management Science – Stevens Institute of Technology. Studied under Scott Nickerson, Robert Glaisek, Nicki Orbach, Daniel Dugan and Paulette Coche at workshops and private tutoring sessions to develop traditional skills in gestural, contour and volumetric drawing. Juried shows 2006, The Art Alliance, Red Bank NJ, “Self Portrait” 2006, The Ridgewood Art Institute, Ridgewood NJ, “Self Portrait” 2007, Ocean County College, Senior Artists, Third Prize, Oil, “Sofa Girl”. 2008, Ocean County Artists Guild, 21st State Juried Show, “Tree” 2008, OCC Senior Citizens Art Exhibit, Honorable Mention, “Class Work”. 2009, OCC Senior Citizens Art Exhibit, Honorable Mention, “Portrait with Cello”. 2009, Ocean County Artists’ Guild, 22nd State Juried Show, “Dune Weather Watch”. Charcoal sketches, watercolors, photos and oil paintings have been exhibited at the Rockland Center for the Arts, Hopper House Art Center, Ridgewood Art Institute, The Art School at Old Church and the Ocean County Artist Guild, Ocean County College, Brookdale Community College. Subject matter includes seaside landscapes featuring the Barnegat Lighthouse, portraits and life subjects. Current items at the Arts Horizons LeRoy Neiman Arts Center, New York City.
