A message from JONATHAN LAW HIGH SCHOOL JONATHAN LAW HIGH SCHOOL Message sent - 9/24/2009 Fighting Incident Dear Parents and Guardians, Yesterday afternoon, MPD received a phone call from a concerned citizen because a large group of teenagers were involved in a fight in a neighbor’s yard. The police responded and arrested a number of students (male and female) who were either actual participants or spectators. Many of those arrested attend Law. Since this is an ongoing investigation, our ability to comment is limited; but I wanted to share some information with you. Over the past two weeks, we have been aware of several similar incidents (although I think yesterday’s was the largest.) I want to take this opportunity to thank the staff members who have counseled students against this activity as well as warning parents of their suspicions of this activity. Also, we have been in touch with MPD about this matter. A very small number of the Law student community is involved in these activities, and there is little to no impact on the larger school community. Still, I wanted to keep you informed. Let me take this opportunity to let you know that this afternoon, I attended a luncheon sponsored by the CIAC at which Jonathan Law was recognized as the third place winner in our division for the quality of our sport's program. We have a lovely silver bowl to show for our efforts! Also, this evening, our volley ball team will continue its successful drive to raise money and awareness of our fight against cancer and our drive to beat Foran! Go Law!
