OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES:     

 

LAA.1.4.3-Increase personal vocabulary through the study of word parts, context clues, and/or etymologies LA.E. 1.4. 1/1.4.2/1.4.4-Distinguishes among the major literary genres ( e.g., short story, poetry, novel, drama, essay, and biography) and understands why certain literary works are considered classics LAA. 2.4.1-Determine the main idea or essential message in grade- level or higher text through inferring, paraphrasing, summarizing, and identifying relevant details. LAA.2.4.2-Analyze and develop and interpretation of a literary work by describing an author’s use of literary elements such as plot setting, theme, point of view, characterization LAB.1.4.3-Produces final documents that have been edited for: correct spelling, correct punctuation, including commas, colons and common use of semicolons; correct capitalization; correct sentence formations; correct instances of possessives, subject/verb agreement, instances of noun/pronoun agreement, and the intentional use of fragments for effects; and correct formatting that appeals to readers, including appropriate use of a variety of graphics, tables, charts, and illustrations in both standard and innovative forms LAC.1.4.1-Demonstrates appropriate listening skills in a variety of settings LAB.2.4.3-Write fluently for a variety of occasions, audiences, and purposes, making appropriate choices regarding style, tone, level of details
