“SPEAK UP” BECOMING A SELF-ADVOCATE Learning Plan Eleven: Resource and Support Agencies Related Vocabulary Purpose: Resource and support agencies were established to help individuals with disabilities through counseling, support for postsecondary education, developing job skills, finding a job, or developing independent living skills. To access these services, individuals must express their needs to these agencies. In order to communicate clearly with resource and support agencies, individuals need to have a clear understanding of the terms associated with these agencies.
