Your New Life Lesson 1 There comes a time in the life of every person when they understand that it is necessary to take certain steps to experience true salvation. The yearning of every heart is “What must I do to be saved?” There are more than 1,700 denominations in the world. Which one is the right one, and why? What does it mean to be saved? The Bible is the Word of God. It is the only place where you can find the way to salvation. “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Tim 3:14-15 “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” John 5:39

WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM OF YOUR FATHER You are now a new creature in Christ and have joined millions of people throughout the world who have been spiritually born again into the eternal Kingdom of God. Consider some important points regarding our Father’s Kingdom:

1.

WE WERE ______________________ BY THE FATHER

5 Jesus said, “I have come in My Father's name…” (John 5:43). Therefore, we received the name of the Father at baptism and we partook of the nature of the Father when we received the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4, 17). God has now become our father and we have become His children. Consider what the apostle John wrote: 1.

John 1:12 to

2.

1 John 3:1

3.

1 John 3:2

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” “Beloved, now we are children of God…”

Paul explained his new relationship with his heavenly father to the Church at Rome in this manner: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” Romans 8:14-16 It was in this manner that we became children of God through faith.

2.

OUR FATHER HAS A ______________ “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:19-22 “You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5

Our Father’s House is none other than the CHURCH: “But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15

SPIRITUAL _____________ IS DEVELOPED IN THE CHURCH

Like a newborn baby, it is necessary to learn the following things: 1.

Learn to ______________________ Your spiritual maturity is not only determined by time, but is mainly affected by your diligence in seeking to know your heavenly Father and His plans for your life The carnal mind will resist the taking away of its liberty to live without laws. Romans 8:7 states, “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be” (Read 1 Corinthians 3:1).

2.

Learn to ______________ We all need to start with the milk of the Word of God (1 Peter 2:2). It is pure and full of all the nutrition that a child needs

3.

Learn to ______________ There has never been a child that could stand on his two little weak legs immediately after being born. Don’t be discouraged by the mistakes you make at the beginning

It is important that every new Christian realize that his spiritual maturity in the Lord will take many days, weeks, months, and even years. It is the will of God and our desire… “ that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
