Greetings from Alpha Gamma Rho, We, the members of Alpha Gamma Rho, would like to invite you to apply for the Alpha Gamma Rho Leadership Scholarship. We are offering a total of $6,500 of scholarships through the Alpha Gamma Rho Education Foundation. The breakdown of this scholarship is as follows:  $1,000 for Natural Resources Related Majors  $1,000 for Food Science and Nutrition Related Majors  $1,000 for Biological Science Related Majors  $3,500 for all other majors, could include above majors These scholarships were established to encourage high school and transfer students who have excelled in and out of the classroom to continue their achievements at the University of Minnesota. Alpha Gamma Rho is a professional/social fraternity for young men with a background and/or interest in agriculture, life sciences, and/or natural resources. To be eligible to apply for one of the Leadership Scholarships, you need to plan to enroll at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Campus this fall and anticipate majoring in the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences, the College of Biological Sciences, or intend to pursue a related career. Applicants are also eligible if they come from an agricultural background or have shown leadership in 4-H or FFA. Applicants do not need to plan on being a member of our fraternity to be considered for these scholarships. Scholarship deadline: March 27, 2018 After the initial applications are received, we ask that you attend our scholarship weekend held at our chapter house on the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus. Applicants will arrive on Friday, March 29 at 5:00 p.m. for activities to meet our active members and other incoming freshman. On Saturday, March 30, we will hold interviews starting at 8:00 a.m. During or after the interview process, parents are invited to the chapter house for doughnuts and refreshments and an opportunity to ask questions about life on campus, Alpha Gamma Rho, and/or Greek Life. We will also be offering an open house to all applicants during the MN State FFA Convention for the opportunity to interview for the Leadership Scholarships. If you have conflicts with the scholarship weekend in March, please still apply for the Leadership Scholarships, and we will make arrangements based on your circumstances. Scholarship recipients will be notified mid-May after all applicants have had the opportunity to interview.
