You can work with your group (or even in pairs or individually if you so choose) to come up with a different way to look at your Langston Hughes’ poem: •

This could take the form of a drawing, an idea for a music video (what song could go along with it?), a movie preview or a concept for a movie, a comic strip, a new poem (haiku?), or even a new biography of Langston Hughes using the poem as insight. Anything goes, as long as it’s creative! Use any markers, paper, etc. available in the room. Be prepared to share your idea/take with the other groups in the class so that they can get an idea about your poem. You have until the end of the hour.
