DESALINATION PLANTS Desalination refers to any of several processes that remove excess salt and other minerals from water in order to obtain fresh water suitable for consumption or irrigation, and if almost all of the salt is removed, for human consumption. One of the processes used to desalination is reverse osmosis. REVERSE OSMOSIS Reverse osmosis is a separation process that uses pressure greater than the osmotic pressure to force a solvent through a membrane that retains the solute on one side and allows the pure solvent to pass to the other side. LE uses the “state of the art” technology membranes to desalinate water, from low brakish water (well / bore well water) to sea water, producing potable water quality to semi conductor grade water quality. ULTRA FILTRATION & NANO FILTRATION Ultra filtration or UF is a pressure driven membrane separation processthat separates particulate matter from soluble components in the carrier fluid (such as water). Nanofiltration is a pressure driven separation process. The filtration process takes place on a selective separation layer formed by organic semipermeable membrane LE Ultra Filtration and Nano filtration systems are used for various applications like filtration, juice Clarification, recovery of precious materials, effluent recovery systems and many more applications. LE uses its expertise in recommending and supplying the right type of ultra / nano filtration equipment’s based on micron rating and materal of construction for filtration upto 0.02 micron. EFFLUENT / SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS: Sewage treatment, or effluent wastewater treatment, is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, both runoff and domestic. It includes physical, chemical and biological processes to remove physical, chemical and biological contaminants. Its objective is to produce a wastestream (or treated effluent) and a solid waste or sludge also suitable for discharge or

reuse back into the environment. LE designs and supplies very efficient ETP and STP using the “state of art” design and technology not only to bring water up to effluent discharge standards but also to recycle water and maintain a “Zero Discharge Plant” MEMBRANE BIO-REACTOR ZeeWeed membrane bioreactor systems combine proven ultrafiltration technology with biological treatment for municipal, commercial and industrial wastewater treatment and water reuse applications. The membrane bioreactor system incorporates reinforced hollow fiber membranes specifically designed to meet the requirements of wastewater treatment. Membrane bioreactor systems replace conventional treatment and combine clarification, aeration and filtration into a simple and cost-effective process that reduces capital and operating costs. The result is consistent, high quality effluent suitable for any discharge or reuse application. ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS The activated sludge process is a wastewater treatment method in which the carbonaceous organic matter of wastewater provides an energy source for the production of new cells for a mixed population of microorganisms in an aquatic aerobic environment. The microbes convert carbon into cell tissue and oxidized end products that include carbon dioxide and water. LE uses Activated Sludge Process in Wastewater Treatment methods to ensure the end products with carbon dioxide and water. CLARIFIERS: The function of the clarifier is to settle out particles. This can be done by properly recognizing that small turbulence levels can bring particles together to help them settle more easily and that the effect of shear and strong turbulence levels will break particles leading to an increase in turbidity. LE designs suitable type of clarifier for efficient settling of particles for the process of filtration operation economically.

APPLICATIONS PROCESS INDUSTRIES The effluents from the process industries such as textile, chemical, leather, dyeing etc should be treated before discharge to avoid its impact on environment. LE uses modern technologies like clarifier, cross flow filtration etc to treat the effluent and sludge to meet the CPCB ( central pollution control board) and SPCB (state pollution control board) norms. POWER GENERATION High purity water produced by reverse osmosis technology increases energy output and operating efficiency in power plants. Power plants have used coagulation, flocculation and ion exchange beds (cation and anion beds) to create high purity water for more than 100 years. These methods purify water, but the technology requires the use of hazardous chemicals, including acid and caustic solutions LE utilizes reverse osmosis technology with high quality membranes and provides the user trouble free operation of boiler and cooling towers FOOD AND BEWERAGES The food and beverage industry uses large volumes of water as it is a convenient, clean, and a relatively inexpensive resource, both as a component of many products, and as a solvent for conducting cleanups and other production needs. LE supplies water and wastewater treatment equipment and services the food and beverage sector presents a fairly dynamic market equipped with the latest technologies. PHARMACEUTICALS In pharma industry, the wastewater contains pharmaceutical ingredientsthat should be removed from the water by respective treatment methods. LE is constructing a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) specifically designed to remove active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) from wastewater. LE engaged in extensive

research, bench scale testing, and pilot testing in the design of the WWTP. The treatment plant incorporates a membrane bioreactor and ozone treatment system to remove very low concentrations of API. The WWTP is designed for 100% recovery and reuse of the effluent. OFFSHORE In Macro Porous Polymer Extraction (MPPE) water treatment process, hydrocarboncontaminated water is passed through a column packed with MPPE particles. The particles are porous polymer beads that contain a specific extraction liquid. The immobilized extraction liquid removes the hydrocarbon components from the process water. The purified water can either be reused or discharged. LE provides packed bed column to generate water in offshore field to meet out the expectations of the clients. AUTOMOBILES This process targets more effective cleansing of waste water generated by the plant’s vehicle painting operation and to reduce the environmental footprint of automotive manufacturing. Phosphate treatment is one of the main stages of each paint process of metal vehicle parts. LE re-circulating the cleaned water into the production process, the ultimate goal is to completely eliminate waste water from the paint operation and thus considerably reduce the need for fresh water by using the nano- filtration technique and packed bed reactors. LE also have a full pledged R&D team in order to cater for special application treatment systems like o o o o o o

Oil clarification Fruit juice concentration Milk concentration Chrome recovery Paint recovery Color removal using resin based system

LE demonstrates by the way of pilot studies before commercial scaling up of the system. LE also have a full pledged O&M set up which being takes care of the WTP, STP, Recycling plants.

LE undertakes O&M in a comprehensive basis. LE deals with the spares requirement of the treatment plant which includes RO membranes UF membranes Micron Cartridges Resins Centrifugal pump and Dosing pump accessories Other required spares Operation chemicals such as poly electrolyte, Alum, Ferric chloride, Hypo chloride, Sodium meta bi sulphite, Antiscalents etc  Cleaning chemicals such as Citric acid, sodium lauryl sulphite, Caustic soda, EDTA.       
