Lesson 8: String Crossing The previous lesson focused on finding and maintaining the hand balance based on your hand structure. If we only played scale passages on one string, this would be enough. Unfortunately, music contains many scale passages that employ more than one or two strings. The following exercises will help you develop the necessary hand balance while crossing strings. Practice this exercise slowly being aware of these four points: Smooth forearm movement Right Hand Stability The fingers moving the forearm and shoulder when ascending The forearm and shoulder moving the fingers when descending When you are comfortable playing Exercise 1 move to Exercise 2.
