Intro Das Spiel ist aus / The Game is Over Monica und Lena sprechen nach dem Fußballspiel noch mit zwei deutschen Fans über Fußball in Deutschland. After the soccer game, Monica and Lena talk to two German fans about soccer in Germany.

Dialog deutsch Lena (L): Puuh, das war knapp. Aber Deutschland hat doch noch gewonnen... Monica (M): 6:5 im Elfmeterschießen. Wahnsinn! Ich bin jetzt noch total aufgeregt. L: Du, ich auch. Bis zur Pause war's ja eher langweilig, aber die zweite Halbzeit hatte es in sich. M: Und dann noch die Elfmeter. L: Also, das letzte Tor war wirklich unhaltbar. Deutscher Fan 1 (DF1): Na, hat euch das Spiel gefallen? M: Ja, sehr. War aber auch ganz schön anstrengend! DF1: Anstrengend? Warum denn das? M: Naja, die ganze Zeit stehen, klatschen, singen. Ich bin schon ganz heiser. L: Du bist einfach nichts gewöhnt. Ich fand es super! Deutscher Fan 2 (DF2): Ja! So spricht ein wahrer Fußball-Fan. Wer hat dir denn am besten gefallen? L: Hmm, schwer zu sagen. Ich kenne nicht alle Spieler. Aber Oliver Kahn war in Topform und Ballack finde ich sowieso toll. M: Und ich mag Klose und Podolski im Angriff. Und Deisler und Frings im Mittelfeld! Wer ist denn hier der wahre Fan? L: In welchem Verein spielen die eigentlich sonst? DF1: Also Deisler ist beim FC Bayern und Frings bei Werder Bremen. Die führen meist die erste Bundesliga an. Podolski, der ist beim 1. FC Köln, die haben es etwas schwerer. Diese Saison sind sie fast abgestiegen. L: Was meinst du mit 'fast abgestiegen'?

DF1: Na, es gibt doch die erste und die zweite Bundesliga. Am Saisonende müssen die drei schlechtesten Vereine aus der 1. Liga in die zweite und die drei besten aus der zweiten Liga kommen in die erste. Es gibt also drei Absteiger und drei Aufsteiger. L: Davon habe ich schon gehört. Das muss für die Fans ja frustrierend sein. DF2: Tja, das stimmt. Aber wahre Fußball-Fans halten zu ihren Vereinen, in guten wie in schlechten Zeiten. DF1: Und in der nächsten Saison kann alles wieder ganz anders sein. M: Das stimmt! Aber genug Fußball für heute. Jetzt muss ich erst mal was essen, und Durst habe ich auch. DF2: Wenn ihr Lust habt, können wir zusammen losziehen. Wir kennen da eine gute Kneipe in der Stadt, da wird heute bestimmt noch richtig gefeiert. L: Mmh, was meinst du? M: Ja, warum nicht - wenn es nicht zu weit ist! DF1: Nein, nur drei Stationen mit der U-Bahn. L: Okay, dann lasst uns gehen.

Dialog englisch Lena (L): Man, that was close, but Germany did win in the end... Monica (M): 6:5 in a penalty shoot-out. Incredible! I'm still totally worked up. L: Hey, me too. It was boring up until half time, but the second half was really exciting. M: And then the penalty shoot-out. L: Yeah, that last goal was really unstoppable. German fan 1 (Gf1): Hey, did you like the game? M: Yeah, a lot. But it was exhausting! Gf1: Exhausting? Why's that? M: Well, standing the whole time, clapping, singing. I can barely talk. L: You just aren't used to it. I thought it was great! German fan 2 (Gf2): That's a real soccer fan talking. So, who do you think was the best? L: Ahh, that's hard to say. I don't know all of the players. But Oliver Kahn was in great shape, and I always like Ballack.

M: And I liked Klose and Podolski. They were fantastic in the offence. And Deisler and Frings in the midfield! Now, who's the real fan around here anyway? L: What clubs do they normally play for? Gf1: Deisler is with FC Bayern and Frings is with Werder Bremen. They are usually at the top in the German league rankings. Podolski is with the FC Cologne, they're having a hard time. They were almost relegated this season. L: What do you mean by 'almost relegated'? Gf1: There is a first and a second German soccer league. At the end of the season, the three worst teams in the first league are relegated into the second, and the three best in the second division are promoted into the first. So three teams are promoted, three relegated. L: Oh, right, I've heard about that before. That must be pretty frustrating for the fans. Gf2: That's true. But real soccer fans stay loyal to their teams - in good times and in bad. Gf1: And next season things can all turn around. M: That's right! But that's enough soccer for today. I'm thirsty and need something to eat. Gf2: If you feel like it, you can come with us. We know a good bar in town, and I bet there'll be a party tonight. L: Hmm, what do you think? M: Yeah, why not - if it's not too far away! Gf1: No, just three subway stops. L: Ok, then let's go.
