UW-Milwaukee Student Leader says blacks "ask to be held down and discriminated against, and placed back into slavery"
The recently appointed UWMilwaukee SA Speaker of the Senate, Kyle Duerstein, has been found to have made numerous racially insensitive remarks on his blog Panther Talk Live.
Kyle Duerstein, appointed by the UWM SA Senate in June of 2009 and a former city of St. Francis School Board member, has been known on campus for his blog Panther Talk Live. He has used the blog to influence campus politics. Among some of the comments that have been recently found are:
“If mainstream black Anglo-hating racists can't find a way to function in normal society and use the intelligence that God gave them, perhaps they ask to be held down and discriminated against, and placed back into slavery." - Panther Talk Live / November 12th 2005
Maybe if blacks started behaving with some candor and class and stopped doing things that cause the cops to shoot them, THEY'D STOP GETTING SHOT! Holy hell, what a concept? - Panther Talk Live / January 14thth 2006
Just as an aside, according to the 2000 U.S. Census, Wisconsin population is 88.9% white. There are fewer than 88.9% white students on campus at UWMilwaukee. Perhaps some AngloAffirmative Action should be implemented. - Panther Talk Live / February 14th 2006
UWM junior Michael Hirthe found the offensive comments while surfing through previous postings made on Duerstein's blog. He says he was shocked that Senate leaders would make such an appointment. "I was completely stunned.", said Michael Hirthe, "That the SA Senate would appoint him to be speaker of the senate shows how out of touch they are with the values of the UWM student body. Duerstein should either be impeached or removed from office by the Administration.
He continued, "Never before have I been so concerned for the student body. As Speaker of the Senate, Kyle is partially responsible for the distribution of school funding to the diverse student body on campus. How can he perform his job with any level of objectivity?"
