Kristin Hagen 1st Grade Teacher O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary School Fort Collins, CO 80525 To Whom It May Concern, I am so thrilled and excited to recommend Emily Trujillo for a student teaching position. Emily was a guided reading practicum student in my classroom last Spring, and I could not have been more impressed with her potential as a future teacher, professionalism, and relationship with students. Emily was assigned to my classroom in January to work with students 1-on-1 in a guided reading capacity. Immediately, Emily went above and beyond to develop positive relationships with our students and staff. The student that Emily was working with quickly connected with her. Emily was also extremely proactive about communication. She asked questions when she needed clarification, expressed weekly highlights and concerns about the student she was working with, and went above and beyond to ensure that her student experienced success in terms of reading accuracy and fluency. Additionally, I was impressed with Emily’s willingness to communicate. Emily sent me weekly emails to communicate about the students she was working with. She asked important questions in order to learn and grow. She was willing to tweak and adjust her practice, implement suggested strategies and skills, and seek advice to benefit the students she was working with. She provided detailed recounts of her work with my student and kept me in the loop of what her focus was. It is evident that Emily has the capacity to be an outstanding teacher. I know that her eagerness to learn and grow will allow her to quickly develop into an effective educator. She is a true teacher-in-the-making, and any school would be lucky to have her as a student teacher. Please contact me with any questions. Sincerely, Kristin Hagen 1 Grade Teacher O’Dea Core Knowledge st
