Kosher Food Co. A supermarket / restaurant chain selling organic Food made locally and packaged using recycled/recyclable materials. All food is delivered to the restaurants in state-of-the-art bio-fuel vans with very low co2 emissions. Also the ‘Kosher Food Co.’ believes strongly against the use of fertiliser, meaning they only sell and cook with organic ingredients. Religion Our target audience for this business is the Jewish population; therefore we have to be very religiously aware in our business practices. Consequently we have measures in place to ensure our business is ‘Kosher’. One of these measures we are taking is evident in our food storage methods. For example we are having our kitchens separated halfway with a partition to abide by ‘Kashrut’ Law to maintain our ‘Kosher’ philosophy. Another measure we are taking is that all the food is slaughtered by a trained ‘Shochet’ by using a special slaughter method known as ‘Shechita’ which involves severing the jugular vein, carotid artery, esophagus and trachea in a single continuous cutting movement with an un-serrated, sharp knife, avoiding unnecessary pain to the animal. Failure of any of these criteria renders the meat of the animal unsuitable.
