Teaching Experience Student Teacher August 2018 – Present E.M. Education Policy Experience Data and Special Projects Coordinator January 2018 – June 2018 Washington Latin Public Charter School, Washington D.C., D.C. • Maintained Washington Latin’s data dashboard to collect, store, and interpret data as necessary for school and student needs. • Co-directed the implementation of an early warning system (based on an RTI model) to identify students for targeted interventions depending on key indicators of success, including attendance, behavior, and course performance. • Coordinated and implemented a recruitment and selection plan for hiring new faculty and staff, which includes, but is not limited to, developing a recruitment strategy, creating job descriptions, and conducting interviews with potential candidates. • Co-managed the research and execution of corporate, foundation, city, and federal grants for the school. • Worked as a long-term substitute for a high school study hall and a 10th grade intensive support class focused on study skills. Directed, drove, and contributed to P-12 education research for the Commission and subcommittees, particularly in areas such as charter-district collaboration, meeting the needs of children in poverty, and parent and community engagement. Coordinated all projects on behalf of the Commission and 3 subcommittees, in addition to tracking progress of and overseeing the development of each deliverable, such as the Commission’s Annual Report and multiple issue briefs. Co-supervised the work of undergraduate and graduate students to guide their research, delegate projects, and provide relevant feedback for their growth and professional development.
Administrative Intern June 2016 – August 2016 DREAM Charter School, DREAM, East Harlem, NY • Worked with the Elementary School Principal to create curriculum resources for ELA guided reading and interactive readaloud lesson plans based on Fountas & Pinnell’s Continuum of Literacy Learning to inform teachers and school leadership. • Compiled yearlong scope and sequence for K-5 ELA based on previous school year lesson plans and literacy standards. • Audited K-5 ELA and Math curriculum material to ensure accessibility of lesson plans and various teaching resources. Graduate Education Public Policy Fellow September 2015 – May 2016 Institute for Public Administration, University of Delaware, Newark, DE • Served as a College Application Month (CAM) planning team member, an initiative funded by the Delaware Department of Education to provide assistance to high school seniors during the college application process. • Oversaw the volunteer and administrative needs of five high schools’ designated CAM weeks. • Developed student, parent, counselor, and principal resources for the state’s Delaware Goes to College website.
