I have been proud to call Norton home since 2011. So proud, in fact, that I decided to run for the Charter Commission. I live with my family—my husband Kevin, our two school-aged children, and dog Murphy—and work for a local non-profit dedicated to protecting environmental resources. I volunteer as a Norton Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Charter Committee member, as well as being active in my children’s school activities, and regularly participating in Town Meetings. As a member of the Charter Commission, I would work to move forward the best interests of town residents. I am a public policy attorney and have worked for two state legislatures (Massachusetts and New Jersey). More recently, I have worked for two nonprofits working on public health and environmental policy issues. I believe my experience would be an asset to the commission. I have no preconceived notions of what a revised charter should look like, but want to ensure Norton’s charter works for everyone. I have listened, and will continue to listen, to my neighbors about what they like about how the town works for them, and about their frustrations. A fresh set of eyes, from people with a variety of experience, can revitalize the town and set a course for a successful and prosperous future.
