Keeping your focus on jesus Hebrew 12:1-2 We are living in a day and time where we as a society tend to give up on things fairly easy. Many of us can’t seem to finish what we have started. We say one thing and we do another. We talk a lot, we see a lot, but when it comes time for us to perform we often come up short. Vows are broken, promises seldom kept. We are living in a time of a doubleminded, inconsistent and unstable society. We are sometimes easily diverted from what we have intended to do. I Can often recall times when I go downstairs to get something, and by the time I get there I’ve forgotten what I’ve gone down there for. Do I have a witness? Often time in life situation we get distracted from our first and truest feeling. We tend to lose focus on why we started something in the first place. That deep feeling of passion, Vision and Purpose tends to get lost through the distractions of life. We find ourselves at a place we did not intend to be. And this would be somewhat comforting if this only took place outside the body of Christ, but unfortunately, somehow that same mentality has crept up in the church. We expect that from those who don’t know Christ. But sometimes, we as Christians find ourselves in the same predicament. Losing focus of that which God has called us
to do, or to make it even clearer losing focus from whom go has called us to be. I did not intend on being at this point in life, I thought I would have been farther. I started writing this book 5 years ago. I've been working on my degree for the last 11 years. The lord told me to step out. But every time I move my feet, As soon as I’m about to make my confession of faith, Just when I’m about to plant one foot in the Jordan Just when I thought I was about to shout the wall of Jericho down. Right before I step into my promise. Something someone, some situation occurs that cause me to get distracted. And here I am today, I know I’m no where I use to be, And I praise God for that. But there should come a time where we can say, I’m right where I suppose to be In the plan of God. Because when God calls me to do something, I don’t want to show up late in the roll call of life. I’m talking about keeping your focus on Jesus. We lose our focus because we are looking at the wrong thing. Focus means to be fixed or settled on one thing. Concentrate on one thing. 1. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways, Here today, gone tomorrow.
2. We declare God told us to Do it, but when trouble show up, we start to back down, and begin to talk slow on that thing God has given us to do. . That’s why the bible says we walk by faith and not by sight. If I keep looking at what I see, I will never fulfill my goal. 1. dreams 2. my calling 3. never pursue my divine destiny If I keep looking at 1. what the bank is saying 2. credit report 3. my own credential, and my degrees I would never step out on faith. Often times when we step out on faith, things seem to get worse, and that is where we begin to back up and say I’ll put it off until tomorrow, and before you know it a whole week as pass, then a whole month, and then you wake up 2 years has passed and you still haven’t done that which god has called you to do. But baby when things start to go wrong that is when you really need to push like never before. The Bible says that when Zion travailed she brought forth. What does it look like me not birthing my baby because I focus more on the pain and forgot to focus on the purpose of the pain?
Why am I having pains? Well it could be because I’m having a baby. Why am I going through? I’m birthing my miracle. Why did this go wrong, and why that person left, and why did my friends let down. And why am I sometimes so alone. You got to believe in your heart that God is trying to bring something through you. That ministry. That calling, that vision, that divine destiny. Keep your focus on Jesus, Keep your eyes on the prize, don’t be distracted by life situations, because life happens. If it isn’t one thing it’s another. You got to make up in your mind, come hell or high water. I am determine to be what God has given me to be. I’m determine to do what god has called me to do. 1. I can have what he says I can have. 2. Because the lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. 3. Because he can do exceedingly and abundantly above all I could ever ask or think. 4. When the devil says you ain’t nobody, just a women. I’m reminded of the scripture that says greater is he that is within me than he that is in the world. 5. When the devil says he is gonna kill you, I shall not die but live. 6. When the enemy tries to intimidate you with life problem. Know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. I’m more than a conqueror, I’m the head and not the tail, I can do all things through Christ, which strengthen me.
How am I going to do it? Through Christ. No through my own power. Not by power, not by might but by my spirit says the lord. If it is going to be done, it has to be done through Christ. That’s why we must keep our focus on Christ. Looking unto Jesus who is the Author and finisher of our faith.
