To all post graduate students:
We are launching a new journal for distributing knowledge amongst the Jyu post graduate students, across the boundaries of disciplinaries and faculties. We are now looking for students all around the campus to contribute to the first number of

Post Graduate News & Letters There are about 500 post graduate students in our university, spread over the 7 faculties and 20 different departments. How many do you know? Ever wonder what the rest are doing in their daily struggle towards the dissertation? Our goal is a regularly published paper where texts are written by, written to and written about being a post graduate student. We are looking for small essays of approx. 1000 words or 1-2 pages, presented in a manner accessible to an audience mostly outside the author’s own field. No peer reviews, no evaluations, just spreading the knowledge of what we do in our own research and what is it like to be a post graduate at the different departments, and educating us all with experience of being a young academic. The first paper will be out as soon as we have enough material: we need texts and essays from all post graduate students, from all faculties and all disciplines. In case you feel that you yourself would be interested in reading a paper like this, then please, help make it happen. Spare an extra hour and write us an essay. Reading and writing is what we do, and as you know there is no telling how surprisingly valuable even the smallest of texts can turn out to be.
