Justino Garzon April 14, 1949 - December 6, 2008

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Lord, you renew our lives by this Holy Eucharist; free Justino from sin and raise him to eternal life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Trip To Heaven I took a trip to heaven But only in my mind I wanted to know what it's like To leave all you love behind. So I closed my eyes, and started to see Just how beautiful heaven can be. I could see the pearly gates of white and behind them was the most radiant light. I saw an angel as she was passing by so incredibly beautiful t hat a tear fell from my eye. Everyone looked perfect and with the angels they did sing There are no earthly words to describe the beauty of their wings. As I sat on a bench i n the most incredible garden I asked God for all of my sins to be pardoned I took one last look at all of the beauty around And when I opened my eyes, it was peace that I found.

CONCLUDING RITE Eternal rest grant unto Justino, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him, O Lord. May he rest in peace. Amen. May the soul of Justino and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. The Lord be with you. And also with you. May the love of God and the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ bless and console us and gently wipe every tear from our eyes. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. RECESSIONAL HYMN

Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: “I leave you peace, my peace I give you.” Look not on our sins but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom, where you live forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you. Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world Grant us peace. This is the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to his supper. Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.

OPENING HYMN HERE I AM LORD I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin, My hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? ® Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart. I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people’s pain. I have wept for love of them. They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, Give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my words to them. Whom shall I send? ® INTRODUCTORY RITES

COMMUNION HYMN

ON EAGLE’S WINGS You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, Who abide in the shadow for life Say to the Lord, My refuge, My rock in Whom I trust. ® And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of His hand. The snare of the fowler will never capture you and famine will bring you no fear Under His wings your refuge, His faithfulness your shield. ® You need not fear the terror of the night, Nor the arrow that flies by day Though thousands fall about you, Near you it shall not come. ® For to His angels He’s given a command, To guard you in all of your ways Upon His hands they will bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone ®

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. OPENING PRAYER Lord God, you are the glory of believers and the life of the just. Your Son has redeemed us by rising to life again. Our beloved Justino was faithful and believed in our own resurrection. Give to him the joy and blessing of the life to come. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

FIRST READING A reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah On this mountain the Lord of hosts will provide for all peoples a feast of rich food and choice wines, juicy, rich food and pure, choice wines. On this mountain he will destroy the veil that veils all peoples, the web that is woven over all nations; he will destroy death forever. The Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces; The reproach of his people he will remove from the whole earth; for the Lord has spoken. On that day it will be said: “Behold our God, to whom we looked to save us! This is the Lord for whom we looked; let us rejoice and be glad that he has saved us!” The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna, Hosanna on high. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna in the highest Hosanna, Hosanna on high.

Let us proclaim the mystery of faith. Christ has died, Alleluia. Christ has risen, Alleluia Christ will come again. Alleluia, Alleluia.

Through him, with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours almighty Father, forever and ever.

PSALM YOU ARE NEAR ® Yahweh, I know you are near, standing always at my side. You guard me from the foe, and you lead me in ways ever-lasting. Lord, you have searched my heart, and you know when I sit and when I stand. Your hand is upon me protecting me from death, keeping me from harm. ® Where can I run from your love? If I climb to the heavens you are there; if I fly to the sunrise or sail beyond the sea, still I'd find you there. ® You know my heart and its ways, you who formed me before I was born in the secret of darkness before I saw the sun in my mother's womb. ®

Amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen. . .

Jesus taught us to call God our Father, and so we have the courage to sing: Our Father, who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy name Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil For thine is the kingdom And the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Pray brethren that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his Church.

PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS Lord, accept these gifts we offer for Justino, your son. May they free him from sin and bring him to the happiness of life in your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

SECOND READING A reading from the Book of Revelation I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” said the Spirit, “let them find rest from their labors, for their works accompany them.” The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Aleluya, aleluya! Wikain mo Poon nakikinig ako Sa Iyong mga salita Aleluya, alelu-aleluya (2x)

PREFACE The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give Him thanks and praise. Father all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks and praise through Jesus Christ our Lord. In him, who rose from the dead, our hope of resurrection dawned. The sadness of death gives way to the bright promise of immortality. Lord, for our faithful people, life is changed, not ended. When the body of our earthly dwelling lies in death, we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven. And so, with all the choirs of angels in heaven, we proclaim your glory and join in their unending hymn of praise.

GOSPEL The Lord be with you. And also with you. A reading from the holy Gospel according to John. Glory to you, Lord. Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, the world also does not know you , but I know you, and they know that you sent me. I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them.” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord, Jesus Christ.

HOMILY PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL In Christ Jesus, all have become children of the Father and heirs of salvation. Confident that God hears the voices of those who trust in the Lord, we now lift up our prayers for ourselves and all those in need. For Benedict our Pope, bishops, priests, and deacons, that they may inspire in all people the desire for a true relationship with Christ, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us. For all who participate in the vibrant life of the Church, especially the Joy in the Spirit Prayer Group and Choir, that you will bless them in their ministries, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us. For doctors, nurses, and caregivers, that you may grant them the compassion and knowledge to convey your healing power to those in their care, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us. For those who are facing illness and adversity in this life, that they may have the strength and faith to accept your will with courage and hope, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us. For the families and friends of our beloved Justino, that their tears of sorrow may be wiped away, and that they may find comfort and solace in your infinite love, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us. For Justino and our family and friends who have gone before us, that they may find joy in the company of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the apostles and saints, and share in your gift of eternal life in heaven, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us. For all of us gathered here before the Lord, that our daily living may transform our suffering world into a place of love, justice and peace, we pray: Lord, graciously hear us.

Lord God, giver of peace and healer of souls, you are the source of goodness and mercy. We humbly ask you to hear the voices of your people. Grant us the grace to imitate the example of Jesus, your obedient son, so that we may one day be worthy of your great gift of salvation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. OFFERTORY HYMN TAKE AND RECEIVE Take and receive, O Lord, my liberty Take all my will, my mind, my memory All things I hold and all I own are Thine Thine was the gift, to Thee I all resign Do Thou direct and govern all and sway Do what Thou wilt, command, and I obey Only Thy grace, Thy love on me bestow These make me rich, all else will I forego. PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this bread to offer, which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God, forever. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God, forever.
