PRECAUTIONS



Refer HSEMS Procedures - Doc. No. SA.KOC.004 “Permit to Work” and Chapter -13 “Welding” of KOC F & S Regulations.



Obtain a Hot Work Permit & other associated permits from Asset Owner.



Conduct Tool Box Talk.



Enclose the area to be spray painted by Tarpaulin.



Post warning notice.



Asses & Identify the safety override (flammable / toxic gas detector) required for the work.



Ensure the equipment / tool to be used for spray paining (such as Spray Paint Gun, Hoses, pump etc) are free from defect.



The spray paint gun & hose are adequately bonded to prevent accumulation of electrostatic charges.



Obtain MSDS for the paint as well as thinner.



Wear the required PPE (Long Sleeve Coverall, Apron, Face Shield & suitable respiratory protection etc.).



Ensure proper ventilation of the area.



Ensure there is no naked flame or spark generating equipment in the area where spray painting is to be done.



Never smoke in the area where spray paining is in progress.



Keep the suitable fire extinguishers in ready condition.



Do not eat or smoke wearing a paint soaked coverall / gloves



Clean / dispose safely the paint soaked coverall / gloves.



Wash properly before consuming any food.



Do not leave unattended the Spray Paint Gun & Hose with on condition.



Isolate the equipment from all source of energy when not in use.



Store the paint & thinners in safe & designated location away from source of ignition.



Ensure proper wind up & housekeeping at worksite.



The accessories (spray paint gun, hoses & pump) not being used must be disconnected and stored separately.
