Jarocin Info No 3

Dear Friends; These are only 3 weeks before the 15th ISSS in Jarocin. We are really looking forward to meeting you! Here comes the last info from Organizers: 22.07.2007 Sunday: Lithuanian group will come 9.30 at Warszawa Zachodnia bus station (correct?). 11 persons (2 teachers+9 students) will meet there by our 2 students waiting for them. PL students would come earlier (our experience re: this bus  ) but here is mobile phone no. to Justyna Grzymała (one of this couple) +48 889133380. In a case of any situation call her immediately! Then LT group will travel by bus (we’ll have tickets) to Institute. Here some welcome sandwiches and mineral water will await them. The rucksacks , luggage could be left here as well! After some eating refreshing sending e-mails to close friends and family some BASIC sightseeing of Warsaw will be offered (including option of money exchange). After that LT group will have some time to kill, until …. 8 pm , when we’ll meet back at Institute . Then again some sandwiches and mineral water will be available. 9.pm some socializing (LT, PL, BG groups) SMALL beer (you know before the trip ) is planned. 11.30 pm 2 buses will depart from University of Warsaw to Poznań Bulgarian group will come 3.30 pm at Warsaw Airport 8 persons (5 students + 3 teachers) will meet there by our 2 students waiting for them. In a case of a case the here is mobile phone no. to Irmina Zakrzewska (one of this couple) +48 609608343. Then BGgroup will travel by bus (we’ll have tickets) to Institute. Here some welcome sandwiches and mineral water will await them. The rucksacks , luggage could be left here as well! After that BG group will have some limited time to kill, until …. <See above info for LT group> 23rd of June Monday German (7 students +Milena + 2 teachers) and Dutch (2 students + 3 teachers) groups will come to Poznań Train Station at 5.50 am. Rest of participants (BG, LT, PL) will be there at the platform (ok. - some of the at the platform ). Some sandwiches and mineral water will be available at the buses. The buses will depart to Jarocin. In Jarocin prof. Dariusz Kuźmina and Michał Zając will wait for you! Then students will check in the Palace. Unfortunately there is a bad news for teachers! On 22nd of June the huge rock event will be ended and hotel Jarota (where teachers will stay) cannot promise us that the rooms will be ready at 7-8 am! They’ll do their best , but …. Of course, there will be a possibility to store the luggage.

Anyway : App. 8 am the breakfest will be served for all in “Dziupla” bar. Then those students who will be tired will check the beds in Palace, those who are tougher (it means also teachers) might use the swimming pool in the hotel Jarota (pictures see: Myspace profile), play sports (beach volleyball, badminton (?), boule ( you know: metal balls), football, lying flat next to pool, etc.. So this is the detailed starting info Rest of the details will be given during the event Basic schedule please find attached. In a case any point of the schedule deserves more detailed info – PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE and send inquiry ASAP! Other interesting and important issues: Insurance – be sure every of you have valid health insurance along with instruction how it should be used in PL . Money : PL currency is Polish Zloty, 1 Euro= 3,7 PLN There will be organized money exchange in Warsaw (BG, LT groups) and Jarocin, Also in Jarocin there is at last one ATM. The possibility of using plastic money in Jarocin shops and bars should not been overestimated.  So its better to exchange/withdraw some PLN’s. Prices in PL : Beer (½ l.) in pub – 3,5-5 PLN ( Jarocin), 5-7 PLN (Warsaw). In shops prices are lower. Lunch in tourist restaurant 20 – 30 PLN (Warsaw), street snack – doner Kebap – 7 PLN, chinese take away 10 PLN. In general prices are almost equal to LT, little higher to BG, much lower than those in D and NL. What to take with you ? - good mood! - some equipment which help you in a case of the rain (always rains during ISSS - old, bad tradition ). - Swimsuits – just for mystical reason – perhaps it will not rain? AND swimming pool is in the schedule of ISSS 3 (three!) times. AND there is also another swimming pool UNDER the roof … so , its better to have this equipment Palace – think about it as a students’ dormitory (which in fact to some extent it is !). So : take the towels, soap, shampoo, mugs for brushing you teeth. NO NEED to take bad sheet or sleeping bags. Do not take this! Jarota Hotel – think about it as a hotel (which in fact it is !). -

SOME food and drinks which represents the best and most delicious tradition of your country (storing in refrigerator will be offered in Warsaw and in Jarocin). You will need it for int’l night. Sport equipment NO NEED to take it. Unless you would like to play tennis in Jarota Hotel (the cost of renting the court is 15 PLN per hour)

What to prepare: - Workshops offer and promo presentation (at least one per group! See the blog at Myspace); -

15 minutes (! YES ! ) presentation of your country . You know this book series “…for dummies” ? or for beginners ? During int’l evening you will have to opportunity to perform such 15 minutes show  NO, no .ppt! No overhead! Just voice and gesture! Sense of humor ! Challenge , huh? 15 minutes ! We’ll brutally turn off the ones who exceed the limit !

2 cd’s : one with music which represents music of your country . During the selection process keep in mind it’ll be used for dancing and fun rather then contemplation! The second cd is ANY music you would like to accompany your disco nights (you chose the format might be audio might be mp3 )

Rest of groups will leave Jarocin 29th after a early breakfast to Poznań, (to be there before 10.20 am) where we’ll say and cry good by to D and NL groups. Then bus will then go straight to Warsaw ( we’ll reach it app. 15.30), where we’ll say good by to LT group. AND then ….. we’ll meet next year !
