“Les enfants sans ombre“ est un film tourné vers la vie. Il raconte le parcours du Professeur Shaul Harel, alias Charlie Hilsberg, caché à quatre ans fin 1942 et aujourd’hui éminent neuropédiatre à Tel-Aviv. Comment a-t-il survécu pendant la Shoah? Comment a-t-il réappris à sourire après la guerre? Comment s’est-il reconstruit? Une histoire de résilience, en écho à celle de milliers d’autres. Une histoire qu’il raconte, enfin, à ses propres enfants, petits-enfants et à nous spectateurs.

“Children without shadows” is a film dealing with life. It tells the story of Prof. Shaul Harel, alias Charlie Hilsberg, hidden when aged four at the end of 1942, and today an eminent neuro-paediatrician in Tel-Aviv. How did he survive during the Holocaust? How did he learn to smile again after the war? How did he rebuild his life? It is a tale of resilience, echoing those of thousands of others, and one that he tells finally to his own children, grandchildren, and to us the viewers.
