Pollution flows into the catch basin through an untreated storm drain  effects all waterways Groundwater contamination 40% of all lakes and streams are too polluted to use for fishing or swimming in the United States. Dumping one quart of motor oil into a storm drain can contaminate 250,000 gallons of water!

ONLY RAIN WATER SHOULD GO DOWN THE STORM DRAIN!!

Less than 1% of the world’s fresh water (~0.007% of all water on earth) is accessible for direct human uses. Growing population and aging infrastructure California faces severe drought conditions, with 2007 ranking as a record dry-year in some regions. If the current drought continues, mandatory water rationing may be imposed in many areas.

At the office… Buy a laptop, it uses 5 times less energy than a desktop Donate old office supplies and furniture to other organizations and institutions Try NOT to travel – use phone, e-mail or video conferencing whenever possible

• unjustified appropriation of environmental virtue by a company, an industry, a government, a politician or even a nongovernment organization • creates a pro-environmental image to sell a product or a policy, or to try and rehabilitate their standing with the public and decision makers after being embroiled in controversy.
