Description

1. Microsoft: Windows Vista (WSE) Microsoft Windows Vista Sustained engineering is the process of providing sustenance services to the Vista product from the date the OS is in the market. The sustained engineering begins on the released version and MS development begins on the next version. Windows Sustained Engineering (WSE) is already supporting the previous version. When a Vista user reports a problem via Product Support Services or vulnerability it is reported through the Security Response Centre, WSE helps triage the problem and then develops and tests the appropriate hot fix, security patch, or update for release via Windows Update and inclusion in the next service pack for that version. WSE must also ensure that any change to the code to fix the problem or vulnerability is incorporated in the next version and, if appropriate, in the next service pack for the previous version. At Wipro As a Vendor to MS we are required to heavily regress test the Vista OS functionality and improve the coverage using Microsoft’s rich set of windows testing tools and technologies.

Description

Microsoft releases number of products to the market almost on a daily basis. To create web pages to market them is a tedious process. So they need to come up with a tool code named “Red Stapler” to automate the process. We designed a windows application to produce XML files in a specific format for feeding data to the Microsoft’s showcase website www.microsoft.com. The application provides provision for configuring various parameters associated with a Microsoft product, like pricing and logo information that is displayed on the Microsoft’s website. The tool provides hundreds of Marketing Programs and other Microsoft initiatives to take advantage of its global e-commerce capabilities and onboard largely via configuration. The tool focus on two area’s; creation of a centralized location allowing Integration Managers, Program Support Analysts, Production Support and tenant customers to manage and support service requests, change requests, and reporting requests; and creation central location allowing changes in Microsoft’s order management platform to be audited and housing critical tenant information for issue.
