In the name of ALLAH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Yaqoob (peace be upon him) in The Quran __________________________________________________________

And this (submission to Allah) was enjoined by Ibrahim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Yaqoob (Jacob), (saying), “O my sons! Allah has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of Islam.” [002:132] Or were you witnesses when death approached Yaqoob (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, “What will you worship after me?” They said, “We shall worship your Ilah (God), the Ilah (God) of your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), One Ilah (God), and to Him we submit (in Islam).”[002:133] That was a nation who has passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do. [002:134] Say, “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)), and that which has been given to Moosa (Moses) and Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [002:136] Say, “Dispute you with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? And we are to be rewarded for our deeds and you for your deeds. And we are sincere to Him in worship and obedience.” [002:139] Or say you that Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob) and Al-Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)) were Jews or Christians? Say, “Do you know better or does Allah? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.” [002:140] ———————————————————————————————— Do they seek other than the religion of Allah (the true Islamic Monotheism worshipping none but Allah Alone), while to Him submitted all creatures in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly. And to Him shall they all be returned. [003:083] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob) and Al-Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)) and what was given to Moosa (Moses), Iesa (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allah) we have submitted (in Islam).” [003:084] And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. Verily, We have inspired you (O Muhammad SAW) as We inspired Nooh (Noah) and the Prophets after him; We (also) inspired Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob), and AlAsbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)), Iesa (Jesus), Ayub (Job), Yoonus (Jonah), Haroon (Aaron), and Sulaiman (Solomon), and to Dawood (David) We gave the Zaboor (Psalms). [004:163] ———————————————————————————————— And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac) and Yaqoob (Jacob), each of them We guided, and before him, We guided Nooh (Noah), and among his progeny Dawood (David), Sulaiman (Solomon), Ayub (Job), Yoosuf (Joseph), Moosa (Moses), and Haroon (Aaron). Thus do We reward the gooddoers. [006:084] They are those whom We gave the Book, AlHukm (religious laws), and Prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein, then, indeed We have entrusted it to a people, who are not disbelievers therein. [006:089] ———————————————————————————————— And his (Ibrahim (Abraham)) wife was standing (there), and she laughed. But We gave her glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac), and after him, of Yaqoob (Jacob). [011:071] ———————————————————————————————— (Remember) when Yoosuf (Joseph) said to his father: “O my father! Verily, I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating themselves to me.” [012:004] He (the father) said: “O my son! Relate not your vision to your brothers, lest they arrange a plot against you. Verily! Shaitan (Satan) is to man an open enemy! [012:005] “Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams and perfect His Favour on you and on the offspring of Yaqoob (Jacob), as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibraheem (Abraham) and Ishaque (Isaac) aforetime! Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, AllWise.” [012:006] They said: “O our father! Why do you not trust us with Yoosuf (Joseph), - when we are indeed his well-wishers?” [012:011] “Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and verily, we will take care of him.” [012:012] He (Yaqoob (Jacob)) said: “Truly, it saddens me that you should take him away. I fear lest a wolf should devour him, while you are careless of him.” [012:013] They said: “If a wolf devours him, while we are Usbah (a strong group to guard him), then surely, we are the losers.” [012:014] “And I (Yousuf (Joseph)) have followed the religion of my fathers, - Ibraheem (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac) and Yaqoob (Jacob), and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not. [012:038]

So, when they returned to their father, they said: “O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother). So send our brother with us, and we shall get our measure and truly we will guard him.” [012:063] He said: “Can I entrust him to you except as I entrusted his brother (Yoosuf (Joseph)) to you aforetime? But Allah is the Best to guard, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.” [012:064] And when they opened their bags, they found their money had been returned to them. They said: “O our father! What (more) can we desire? This, our money has been returned to us, so we shall get (more) food for our family, and we shall guard our brother and add one more measure of a camels load. This quantity is easy.” [012:065] He (Yaqoob (Jacob)) said: “I will not send him with you until you swear a solemn oath to me in Allahs Name, that you will bring him back to me unless you are yourselves surrounded”. And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: “Allah is the Witness over what we have said.” [012:066] And he said: “O my sons! Do not enter by one gate, but enter by different gates, and I cannot avail you against Allah at all. Verily! The decision rests only with Allah. In him, I put my trust and let all those that trust, put their trust in Him.” [012:067] And when they entered according to their fathers advice, it did not avail them in the least against Allah, it was but a need of Yaqoobs (Jacob) inner-self which he discharged. And verily, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not. [012:068] (the eldest brother said) “Return to your father and say, O our father! Verily, your son has stolen, and we testify not except according to what we know, and we could not know the unseen! [012:081] “And ask (the people of) the town where we have been, and the caravan in which we returned, and indeed we are telling the truth.” [012:082] He (Yaqoob (Jacob)) said: “Nay, but your ownselves have beguiled you into something. So patience is most fitting (for me). May be Allah will bring them (back) all to me. Truly He! only He is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” [012:083] And he turned away from them and said: “Alas, my grief for Yoosuf (Joseph)!” And he lost his sight because of the sorrow that he was suppressing. [012:084] They said: “By Allah! You will never cease remembering Yoosuf (Joseph) until you become weak with old age, or until you be of the dead.” [012:085] He said: “I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you know not. [012:086] “O my sons! Go you and enquire about Yoosuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allahs Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allahs Mercy, except the people who disbelieve.” [012:087]

And when the caravan departed, their father said: “I do indeed feel the smell of Yoosuf (Joseph), if only you think me not a person who has weakness of mind (because of old age).” [012:094] They said: “By Allah! Certainly, you are in your old error.” [012:095] Then, when the bearer of the glad tidings arrived, he cast it (the shirt) over his face, and he became clear-sighted. He said: “Did I not say to you, I know from Allah that which you know not.” [012:096] They said: “O our father! Ask forgiveness (from Allah) for our sins, indeed we have been sinners.” [012:097] He said: “I will ask my Lord for forgiveness for you, verily He! Only He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” [012:098] Then, when they entered unto Yoosuf (Joseph), he betook his parents to himself and said: “Enter Egypt, if Allah wills, in security.” [012:099] ———————————————————————————————— When he (Zakariya (Zachariah)) called out his Lord (Allah), a call in secret, [019:003] Saying: “My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble, and grey hair has spread on my head, And I have never been unblest in my invocation to You, O my Lord! [019:004] “And Verily! I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir, [019:005] “Who shall inherit me, and inherit the posterity of Yaqoob (Jacob). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!”. [019:006] So when he (Ibrahim (Abraham)) had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Ishaque (Isaac) and Yaqoob (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet. [019:049] ———————————————————————————————— And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac), and (a grandson) Yaqoob (Jacob). Each one We made righteous. [021:072] And We made them leaders, guiding (mankind) by Our Command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds, performing Salat (prayer), and the giving of Zakat (charity) and of Us (Alone) they were worshippers. [021:073] ———————————————————————————————— And We bestowed on him (Ibrahim (Abraham)), Ishaque (Isaac) and Yaqoob (Jacob), and ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book, and We granted him his reward in this world, and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous. [029:027] ———————————————————————————————— And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Yaqoob (Jacob), owners of strength and of religious understanding. [038:045]

Verily, We did choose them by granting them the remembrance of the home (Hereafter). [038:046] And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! [038:047]
