In Depth" with NAGLFAR Written by Max Thrasher Naglfar is one of Sweden's most 'Stellae Trajectio' (1994). The five-track interesting bands. Combining tape was eventually recorded with a traditional black metal structures drum machine, and contained raw with melody, acoustic instruments and brutal death/black metal, in and excellent production, Naglfar the vein of Emperor and have managed to find their own Dissection. Although very rough, sound, which should not be missed the demo somehow struck a chord by fans of Scandinavian extreme metal. with Wrong Again Records, which signed the band in the beginning of 1995. Originally named 'Uninterred,' the band was Naglfar launched a promo-tape, entitled 'We Are founded in 1992 by vocalist Jens Ryden and bassist Kristoffer 'Wrath' Olivius. Both musicians Naglfar - Fuck You!' followed by the full-length were inspired by classic thrash metal and album 'Vittra'. The drummer was still missing, and Scandinavian mythology, and soon changed the for the recording Naglfar summoned a session name of the band to "Naglfar," borrowing the musician - Mattias Holmgren. The album idea from the Swedish traditional epos. According presented a blast of uncompromising extreme to legend, Naglfar is a ship fashioned from metal, accompanied by acoustic guitars, piano fingernails of the dead. Naglfar will take part in and mesmerizing keyboards. Ragnarök, Scandinavian Armageddon, carrying 'Vittra' (named after a forest goddess who would frost giants to the final battle against the gods. lure men in with her beauty and song, only for Joined by guitarists Morgan Hansson and Andreas them to be forever lost in the woods) did better Nilsson, together with the Nocturnal Rites than anyone could expect. The first print of the drummer Ulf Andersson, the band was set and album disappeared off the shelves within a few ready to go. However Andersson decided to months, immediately bringing Naglfar a 'cult' concentrate on his main project and took off right status in the European underground. The album before the recording of Naglfar's first demo - was re-issued in 2001 by Regain Records, but the original pressing of 'Vittra' is now considered one of the hardest metal albums to find. After a few live appearances, Naglfar occupied themselves at Stockholm's 'Sunlight Studio,' recording the 'Maiden Slaughter' promo tape, which featured a new track '12th Rising' and two covers - Iron Maiden's 'The Evil that Men Do' and Kreator's 'Pleasure to Kill.' The former was also included on the ultrarare Iron Maiden tribute album

'Made In Tribute,' released in Japan in 1997 by Toys Factory. The beginning of 1998 saw the release of the seven inch picture vinyl 'When Autumn Storms Come,' with 'Brimstone Gate' as a B side, followed by the second full-length album 'Diabolical,' featuring new drummer Mattias Grahn. The album appeared to be more chaotic and fast than 'Vittra,' and failed to repeat the success of its predecessor. The record appealed rather to the fans of traditional black metal, while Europe was captured by the new, experimental sound of In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, and the symphonic passages of Cradle of Filth. Naglfar embarked on a European tour supporting Deicide later that year, and suddenly disappeared from view for more than three years. During this time Jens Ryden worked with Dead Silent Slumber, and Olivius with his other project, Swedish thrash/black metallers Bewitched. The band got back together again only in 2001 to release the five-track EP 'Ex Inferis'. The guitarist Morgan Hansson decided not to come back and Olivius dragged along his companion from

Bewitched, Marcus "Vargher" Norman. Norman was also playing with Havayoth, Ancient Wisdom and Throne of Ahaz. Despite a few years of inactivity, Naglfar signed a new deal with Century Media in 2002. The result of this collaboration was the band's third studio outing, 'Sheol' (Hebrew for 'Realm of the Dead'), released in 2003. Filled with outstanding tracks like 'I Am Vengeance,' 'Devoured by Naglfar,' 'Unleash Hell' and 'Black God Aftermath,' the supersonic guitar solos and Ryden's savage voice helped 'Sheol' once again present what Naglfar always did the best - a soundtrack to the autumn storm. A number of live appearances followed, including concerts in Japan, dates at Italy's 'Gods of Metal' festival, and 'With Full Force' and 'Rock Hard' festivals in Germany. The band is still actively touring, and unless the members decide to give it a go with their other projects again, the next studio album shouldn't be far away. It must be added here that throughout their career, Naglfar managed to create a unique sound, combining the intensity and atmosphere of black metal with melody, rich rhythm patterns and outstanding vocal performances. The style of the band is difficult to describe. It's not exactly the "true" black metal, nor Sweden's famous melodic death. Altogether it's something in between, totally magical and impossible to miss. Check them out!

HOUSE OF NOIZZ INTERVIEW Norwegian "Enslaved" hardly need an introduction. Most metal fans have come across this band one way or another. Not only were Enslaved standing at the roots of what is now known as 'True Norwegian Black Metal,' they went further, originating Viking metal and putting their stamp on the Scandinavian metal scene with such groundbreaking releases as 'Frost,' 'Eld' and 'Blodhemn.' We spoke with Ivar Bjornson, the founder and the guitarist of Enslaved, who kindly agreed to answer our questions about the music, ideology, and new album, 'Isa.'

So, the new album is now in stores. Are you happy with this record? Yes, we are very happy with the album. During the recording process we discovered that this is something we're really happy about. We had some bad critics from Finland - that seems to be one country that didn't like the album. But that's usually a good sign when somebody dislikes it. You left Osmose Productions for Tabu Records. Tell us how that came about. After 'Below the Lights' we finished our contract with Osmose and we had to consider the whole situation. Osmose are becoming more extreme and we become more unpredictable, I guess. Everything was perfect with them; they kept every promise they made to us, but we felt that

we're going in different directions. So we decided to look for something else. Both 'Isa' and the previous album 'Below the Lights' seem to be a step away from the traditional Enslaved sound. Why the change in the direction? We don't have any good explanation for the music. Many bands are tended to do the same thing, and I respect and understand this, but we have a different view of things. You do an album once, and then you leave it and try to do a different one. When you go and buy a Darkthrone record, you know what to expect. With Enslaved it's different. I think people would be disappointed if the album sounded the same as the previous one. A lot of Metal fans don't like bands that change too much. How should the fans approach the new album? Give it a good listen from start to finish. This album is starting to settle in after the third or fourth spin. The lyrics on the earlier albums are written in Norwegian, but on 'Below the Lights' and 'Isa' the songs are in English. Why did you choose to switch to English?

 PG 5

IVAR BJORNSON OF ENSLAVED Basically, for people outside Norway the lyrics failed to become a part of the music. They would listen to the music and then find the translations afterwards. So we wanted to give people who don't speak Norwegian the opportunity to understand words of the songs. Enslaved was one of the original 'Viking metal' bands. Do you think this term still applies? We used the term 'Viking Metal' once in the booklet of 'Frost' in 1994. We were sort of making a statement, separating ourselves from the rest of the black metal bands. We are not a satanic band, even though we come from the same scene. But I don't use this term a lot. After all 'Viking metal' became something like roleplaying or 'geeks in the forest' thing. But obviously the Norwegian tradition plays an important role in your music. What does it mean for you personally? That's who I am. I like reading about our history and especially mythology. It's always easier to know where you’re going, if you know where you've come from. As you said, you're trying to stay away from the satanic stuff. A lot of Norwegian bands are very satanic. Do you get along with any of those guys? We've come from the same background. We are part of the black metal scene; we often hang

out together, but we're the 'weird cousins,' so to speak. We do a different thing. We respect them, but we always were very clear to say that we're not a black metal band. You can jump the bandwagon and try to get extra credit for being a part of the scene, but we don't do the satanic thing and we were always very clear about it. What do you think about bands like Dimmu Borgir, who try to look the part, but seem to put the image before the actual music? I tried to listen to Dimmu Borgir's new stuff, but it's not my cup of tea. I guess it's more the 'rock'n'roll show' kind of thing. But then you have to look at the ambition. Dimmu Borgir never were out there hunting for credibility. They're trying to improve sales and do bigger tours, and they seem to be achieving those things. You have to respect people for achieving their goals, but I'd prefer Darkthrone or bitter old black metal like that. But do you think these guys are taking the belief and exploiting it? You know, I was very skeptical when Dimmu Borgir came up. But we're both from Norway and we keep bumping into them. They seem to be very genuine in what they're doing. They have a more heavy metal set of mind - they're doing these Accept covers and all. But even if they're exploiting it, I think it's natural - what's more satanic than exploiting your friends? (laughter)

 PG 6

IVAR BJORNSON interview continued Here's a feedback comment from one of your fans: 'Tell them that '793 (Battle of Lindisfarne)' is one of the best songs ever.' Could you tell us a little more about the song? It's the main song we wrote for the 'Eld' album. It's very epic. Lindisfarne 793 is a historical date. That's when the Viking age was initiated by the attack on the Lindisfarne Monastery. Some very angry Norwegian fishermen came across the Nordic Sea… Fishermen? (laughter) Well… fishermen, Vikings… whatever you want to call them… So they attacked Lindisfarne very furiously and that became known as the beginning of the Viking age. When you go into this moment and imagine these men in their boats, attacking that Monastery… It's a very strong picture for me. Speaking of history and mythology: recently there's been a lot of bands coming from South America or Asia, who explore the

same topics in their music and claim to be black metal bands. In your opinion, is there black metal outside Scandinavia? I think the concept of black and especially death metal is very easy to transfer into those countries. Viking metal could be a little problematic, but when it comes to black metal… I guess evil has no boundaries, right? Well, good point. So the last question: what are your plans for the nearest future? We're off on tour; we'll be touring Europe in February and March and the USA coming up after that. Any chance to see you in New Zealand? Hopefully, yes. We'd really love to go there; we've heard only good stuff from the bands like Mayhem who toured in Australia, so we'd really want to go there. Thanks a lot for doing this interview for us. No problem! Best of luck, guys!

8 FOOT SATIVA

15 Questions with 8 Foot Sativa vocalist, Matt Sheppard. Written by Brendon Williams 1. HOW IS THE LOCAL REACTION TO THE NEW ALBUM, "BREED THE PAIN" SO FAR?

Pretty good; we've sold 2,900 copies in a month which is excellent. 2. OBVIOUSLY, WITH YOU AS THE NEW SINGER, THE SOUND OF THE BAND HAS ALTERED SOMEWHAT. WHAT ARE YOU THE MOST PLEASED ABOUT WITH THE NEW SOUND?

The album is definitely heavier but that has nothing to do with a new singer. All the music was written before I joined. But we reckon the new one is a big step up from 'Season' in sound. 3. WHAT ARE THE BEST AND WORST THINGS ABOUT BEING A METAL BAND FROM NZ?

The best thing is the loyalty of metal fans over here and most of the bands are pretty fucken mean. The worst thing has to be the lack of recognition from the people who run the music industry, which will probably never change 'cos they're all fucked in the head. 4. WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE AMONG THE MEMBERS OF 8 FOOT

Gary = Any Spirit, Brent = Vodka, Sam = Lion Red, Matt = Mac's Gold. 5. WHAT CLASSIC BANDS HAVE INSPIRED 8 FOOT SATIVA THE MOST? ANY LOCAL INFLUENCES?

Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Death, Pantera, a lot of American

Death Metal, and European Metal also, and heaps of others… too many to list. Oh, can't forget Bad News. 6. BLACK MARK RECORDS APPEARS TO BE GIVING THE BAND A BIG PUSH INTERNATIONALLY. HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LABEL DEVELOPING? ARE ALL 3 RELEASES AVAILABLE THROUGH BLACK MARK YET?

Really well. We met Boerje (the label boss) and Klaudia (his wife) while we were in Sweden recording the album. He had come to show us what he's doin for us in the way of promotion, etc. for 'Season for Assault'. Only 'Season' has been released so far, 'Breed' is gonna be released by June this year. 'Hate Made Me' won't be released over there for a while yet. They wanted to release 'Season' first 'cos that's the one they wanted to push, then they were goin to release 'Hate' but that would've made people over there think that was our second so we pulled it for now.

 PG 8

8 FOOT SATIVA 7. HOW DO YOU GUYS GO ABOUT WRITING YOUR SONGS? ARE YOU ALL INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS?

12. WHO ARE A FEW OF YOUR FAVOURITE CURRENT NZ METAL ACTS?

Sam and Gary write most of the stuff. Brent wrote some good shit. I wrote or co-wrote the lyrics for four of the songs.

Dawn Of Azazel, Graymalkin, Shakhan, Skuldom, Kill Me Quickly, Forced To Submit (Rip), Soul Infected, Ulcerate, Just One Fix, Altitude, After Forever and WW4.

8. ARE THERE ANY TIPS YOU CAN OFFER TO UP AND COMING NZ BANDS?

Never ever bloody give up! Ever! People will tell ya you'll never get anywhere playin this sorta music, FUCK THEM!! 9. OUT OF THE 37 COUNTRIES WHICH NOW STOCK YOUR CD'S, WHICH COUNTRY HAS BEEN THE MOST SURPRISING IN THE AMOUNT OF SALES ACHIEVED?

'Season' was only released in Europe, etc. in Nov/Dec so we are yet to hear. 10. DESCRIBE ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENTS IN 8 FOOT SATIVA

Joining the band. New Years went off though; that was wicked. 11. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING THAT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY TAUGHT YOU?

The music industry?? Join a pop band or struggle. So struggle it is then.

13. IF YOU WERE ABLE TO CRANK UP ONE 8 FOOT SATIVA SONG SO LOUD THAT THE ENTIRE WORLD WOULD HEAR IT, WHAT SONG WOULD YOU PICK?

I Live My Death 14. TELL US ONE FACT ABOUT THE BAND THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW.

Well, a lot of people keep coming up to us asking why Jack was kicked out. Let's set the record straight. He left and we're all still mates; end of story. 15. WHAT ARE THE BAND'S PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?

To tour NZ early this year, hopefully with Dawn Of Azazel and Frankenbok from Aussie. Go to Sweden again to play the Swedish Rock Festival, and record the Fourth Album up there again. Cheers.

The Monster Show

Label: Candlelight Records Release Date: 2004 Polish motherfuckers. Featuring the former guitarist of Vader and a whole lot of other local celebrities. I think I can only repeat what my dentist once told me: “Don’t you worry. It will be very quick and very painful” (for the record, he wasn’t lying). It’s terrifying. Extremely fast, extremely brutal, with drilling guitars, savage screams (male and female somewhere in the background) and some absolutely fucked-up effects. The songs lack structures, the music - any classification. Quite possibly, one of the most obnoxious and violent records I’ve ever heard in my entire life. Enhanced section contains lyrics, a bunch of links and some horrendous videos, almost as inappropriate as the album itself. Must be avoided by pregnant women and people with heart conditions. Highly recommended to the fans of extreme metal!

Label: Sanctuary Records Release Date: to be released February 2005 This album is made up of a selection of songs from Lordi's first 2 (and only) albums, "Get Heavy" and "A Monsterican Dream". The release is the result of Lordi inking an international record deal with Sanctuary, who obviously want something on the shelf to sell right away. The album itself (if you don't count the fact that all of the material has already been released recently) is full of great songs. A prior warning though; there is a touch of electronica throughout many tracks, not unlike a Rob Zombie album, so if that kind of thing isn't your cup of tea, steer clear. Other than that, this release is a must have for fans of horror metal, and I particularly recommend the song 'The Devil Is A Loser' for the best example of a definitive Lordi track. To be released with a bonus DVD.

Review by: Max Thrasher

ANthrax Greater of Two Evils Label: Sanctuary Records Release Date: 2004 Basically this is a collection of rerecorded songs from first 5 albums of Anthrax, including all the classics like “Deathrider,” “I am the Law,” “N.F.L.” etc. Of course the new versions are very well recorded and produced and the musicianship sure didn’t get worse in the last 20 years. Yet something is missing from the merry ole Anthrax. Maybe it’s the hunger for success that made the classic albums of the band so outstanding, or maybe the years are finally taking the toll. Honestly, I’d still prefer the originals, but the fans of the band may disagree. Either way, it’s good stuff and well worth giving it a spin.

Review by: Brendon Williams

WINtersuN Wintersun Label: Nuclear Blast Records Release Date: 2004 Brilliant stuff! Wintersun manage to take their own sound out of a unique combination of various metal genres, and it's a very successful formula… the keyboards add a lot of atmosphere to the music, and the vocals fit just right. The drums are really well thought out and are executed beautifully; with some really imaginative beats, ranging in speed from medium pace right up to full-on blast beats. The guitar parts also have some moments which really shine through the magnificent talent displayed by these musicians. The album is produced tastefully, and although there's not much in the way of hooks, there is plenty there to keep you wanting to go back and have another listen. 'Beautiful Death' is one of my favourite tracks from this album.

 PG 10

Interview with W ITHIN Y Written by Drew Reid Well I'd like to start off with the meaning of 'Extended Mental Dimensions.' What is the is significance of the album title and its cover art? Honestly, the whole thing doesn´t have a real meaning… we wanted to do something different than what a "normal" melodic death metal band does. So we told Niklas Sundin at Cabin Fever Media that we wanted something that looked really clean, and with a pretty cold look, and that he should keep the title in his mind when he did it. So he came up with some ideas, and this was the best one, and we all liked it! You can think of it as she (the blindfolded girl) walks in her extended mental dimension… pretty sick, but cool… It is very sad that Niklas left the band; we all wish him well for what the future brings him. Are you guys in need of a replacement or will you continue with one guitarist? Yep, we´re looking for a replacement right now actually… we have a guy who's helping us at the moment, but we aren´t sure who will be the new guitarist yet. On the Within Y website, it says that the new material is very different from that on "Extended Mental Dimensions." In a few words, how can you describe the new material? The new material still sounds like Within Y, but we have added a few new elements to it… it sounds a bit more raw, and a little more

personal… a bit darker than before! How far away is your album from being released? Have you decided on a title or number of tracks? Nothing is decided yet; sorry, I can´t tell you more about this… we have a few songs more to finish, then we have to decide what studio to record in, and so on… I noticed the lyrics are very meaningful; one line that pleases me a lot is "…as the chirping birds die into silence, forever crying as they fall to the ground…" from 'Lost in Solitude.' And another line that catches me is "…I'm screaming for a life so well designed…" What are these songs about exactly? I´m screaming… that's from 'Silently Leaving.' I wrote those lyrics. They´re about trying to have a life well designed; our lives are really fragile, and things can change in just a second… 'Lost In Solitude' is written by Mikael, so I really can´t tell you what he meant with that song. I guess it was a day when he wasn´t feeling that good… hehe…

 PG 11

Interview with W ITHIN Y It's good how the riffs and drums relate to the vocals. Personally, the lyrics and vocal style have inspired me a lot. What makes me wonder the most is what 'Things' is about; to me it seems it's about someone being isolated from other things/people. So let me ask, what does this song mean lyrically? Thank you very much! 'Things' is about a man that is so depressed that he can´t see anything but his grey everydays… so you´re absolutely right there; he is kind of isolated from everything but himself.. This ones for Thim. What type of gear do you use? Brands, sizes, etc… Thim uses Tama drums; I think it´s a 22"x18" bassdrum and 12", 16", and 18" toms. And he plays with a DW5000 series doublepedal. Cymbals vary from Meinl to Zildjian. I'd love to ask this one. What bands are you guys listening to at the moment? Shit… that's a tough one. I´m listening to soooo much. To mention a few, the newest Bloodbath is superb! Soilwork's 'Stabbing The Drama' is also super! 'Koma-Tsunami' is a great album as well! Me and Thim are really into Fear Factory,

Hypocrisy… there are so many. You should come over and have a beer with us, and I´ll show you! Have you guys considered touring New Zealand and Australia? We would love it, but I don´t think it is possible in the nearest future. Maybe on the next album. Hope so! Lastly, have you got any words you'd like to say to the people of New Zealand? Thank you for listening to Within Y and for finding us interesting! Your country looks beautiful! (according to the pictures and movies I´ve seen…) Keep Metal alive! Thank you for you time. Good luck with Within Y. Rock on Gothenburg style. Hehe! Thank you, and thank you for your time! Stay Metal!… Andreas / Within Y Within Y's 'Extended Mental Dimensions' album is available now. MOVIE MORGUE

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas (1998) STARRING: Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro, Tobey Maguire, Ellen Barkin. DIRECTOR: Terry Gilliam.

SUMMARY by Laurence Mixson The big-screen version of Hunter S. Thompson's seminal psychedelic classic about his road trip across Western America as he and his large Samoan lawyer searched desperately for the "American dream"… they were helped in large part by the huge amount of drugs and alcohol kept in their convertible, The Red Shark.

That said, I haven't met a heavy metal fan yet who hasn't found Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas a great film. Leave your expectations for a typical movie at the doorstep, and enjoy your stay in 'Bat Country'.

DID YOU KNOW: The scene in which Raoul Duke calls his attorney from Baker is filmed entirely backwards. In the background be seen Photo by smoke Amandacan Wooldridge coming back into a fire, and Duke bangs in reverse on the side of the phone booth.

REVIEW By Brendon Williams We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive." Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming "Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?" That's how Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas starts… and what an opener to what I'd call one of the best movies ever made; a true cult classic which is a magnificent adaption of the legendary book of the same name. For those who 'get' the humour, the movie will surely fast become one of your favourites. For those who don't, you're really going to think it's a crapper of a movie with excessive drug related themes and no plot.

Written by Ross McGuire probably used to be a shop, judging by the size and location, but was kickass anyway. There was a storage room out the back for gear, which was handy, and the intimate size guaranteed for great performances through the bands' closeness with the audience. First on the bill was a melodic death trio called Final Eve. These guys have only been together for about a year as their website indicates, and showed a lot of talent. What I found cool was that they Photo by AUGUSTA GRAYSON had a completely original set if my Thursday 9th December 2004 will remain to the memory serves me correctly. G The Cancer: I caught up in reading the first two (issues) for the first time in the last couple of weeks and just about shat my pants. Seriously, it's good that you've got the idea of doing a zine and all that, but I don't think I've ever read a bunch of shit more out of touch with the NZ metal scene in my life. I can only hope there'll be commentary to top the 'pumping gas' comment in issue three!! (COMMENTS TAKEN FROM www.nzmetal.com - NZ's #1 site for extreme metal! Join the forums today!)

This is a very cool magazine you got there! I've only been in NZ for 6 months and it's good to see people doing zines and all! I want to write a review for a Lullacry album or Nightwish album! The "Black On The Back" is cool too, but I thought the guy who wrote it wants to be Norwegian or something. Too much talking about how black metal is sold out and dead. That's a load of crap. He needs to go to Norway or Sweden and get his info checked, because there's heaps of people there who still play the true black metal! I found it hard to understand too. But I still love your zine and can't wait for the next issue to come out!

G trialbymcguire: Hey guys, I just got the new Slaughterama and I've gotta say it's by far one of the coolest mags happening in NZ right now. I loved reading all the articles about Skyclad and black metal because I'd never really gotten into the bands or genres, but it was cool to find out about them. I thought the Warbeast interview was great, and was even surprised that my band 'Trial By Fire' got a review… no matter how 'critical', the mag gets a lot of local bands' names out there. Keep up the awesome work! Can't wait for a Winger interview!

B LACK ON TH E BACK JUDAS ISCARIOT Judas Iscariot (taken from the name of one of the disciples of Jesus) was a one-man black metal project, created by Andrew "Akhenaten" Harris in 1992, originally called Heidegger (which became Judas Iscariot in 1993). In 1993 Akhenaten released his first demo, which was written in the tradition of early Darkthrone and Gorgoroth. In 1995, Akhenaten released his first full album "The Cold Earth Slept Below…" through ‘Moribund Records’. Within the next couple of years, Akhenaten released only the single "March of the Apocalypse" (1996) and an EP "Arise, My Lord…" (1997) which meant that he had time to participate in two side-projects: Sarcophagus and Seeds Of Hate. The next Judas Iscariot album (Thy Dying Light) was to be released through “Head Not Found” but their headquarters, ‘Voices Of Wonder’ were so shocked by the extremity of Judas Iscariot that they refused to release the album. Thus it was released by ‘Moribund Records’. "Of Great Eternity" (the next album) had been already

recorded in Nurnberg, March 1997. Akhenaten also managed to release "Distant In Solitary Night", which was recorded in 1996, but had up until then failed to see the light of day. In 1999 Judas Iscariot inked a contract with “Red Stream Records” who were very impressed by his then latest work "Heaven In Flames", which was already in stores at that stage. "Dethroned, Conquered & Forgotten" arrived not long after this in 2000, quite unexpectedly. 2002 was a good year for Judas Iscariot. "To Embrace The Corpses Bleeding" and a rewrite of "The Cold Earth Slept Below…" were released. Akhenaten also participated in such bands as Sarcophagus, Krieg, Nargaroth, Maniac Butcher, Seeds Of Hate and Weltmacht. Session musicians that played in Judas Iscariot include Cryptic Winter (Drums), Proscriptor Mc Govern (Drums) and Lord Imperial (Guitars, Bass).

Judas Iscariot was terminated on August 25, 2002. R.I.P.
