Qur’anic Guidance

O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah as just witnesses; and let not the hatred of a people make you avoid justice. Be just; that is next to piety, and fear Allah for Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

(The Qur’an 5:8)

…Let not the hatred of a people in (once) stopping you from the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression; but help ye one another unto righteousness and piety. Help not one another unto sin and transgression… (The Qur’an 5:2)

Allah does command you that ye restore deposits to their owners, and, if ye judge between mankind, that ye judge with justice. (The Qur’an 4:58)

Allah forbids you not with regard to those who fight you not for (your) religion nor drive you out of your homes from dealing kindly and justly with them; for Allah loves those who are just. (The Qur’an 60:8)

Prophetic Teachings

The Prophet said,

An Arab is not superior to a non-Arab, and a non-Arab is not superior to an Arab. You are all equal. Nobody has superiority over others except by piety and good action. Prophet Muhammad's Last Sermon

The Prophet said, “A woman entered Hell Fire because of a cat which she had tied, neither giving it food nor setting it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.” “A woman was tortured and was put in Hell because of a cat which she had kept locked till it died of hunger.” Bukhari
