What is the importance of transporting substances in living organisms?
In animals, the material move into, within and out of the body in respiratory, circulatory, digestive and excretory system while in plants the materials move, into within and out of the body during processes of respiration, transportation, photosynthesis, absorption by roots, conduction of water, and the nutrients. A living organism is a complex of interactions of physical and chemical reactions involving different elements and molecules. All living cells or living organism must obtain and transport different substances within the body and also transport and remove the wastes out of their bodies or cells. The unicellular organisms and simple multicellular organisms lack mass flow systems. But the complex multicellular organisms have very efficient transport systems. If there were no transport systems, most of the cells of the body of a complex multicellular organism, would be unable to get required materials, and remove their wastes.
