National Bank of Delaware County...
N
ational Bank of Delaware County stands as a testament to the staunch backbone and intestinal fortitude of a 118-year-old bank that has seen it all. Based in Walton, with offices in Andes, Franklin, Hamden, Stamford and Roxbury, NBDC is a quintessential small-town bank, welcoming customers by name, asking about their holidays and making sure that the un-surefooted get to their cars safely. In the face of massive industry abuse, fraud and excess, NBDC continues to plow serenely through the financial seas, content to quietly serve the needs of its citizens and second homeowners. Our secret? We lend to people who are going to be able to pay their debts. We make those deci-
sions locally, usually, in the office where you file your application. We look for small businesses that can thrive in our banking environment. We like to think that we have a cradle-to-grave relationship with our citizens. We look for ways to make our success a community success. NBDC is a community bank. We don’t sell our loans to investors. We keep them here to be serviced on a personal basis. At the same time, we do not send deposits to other institutions. We believe that the survival of a bank is dependent upon knowing exactly where its assets, its liabilities and its customers stand at any given moment. We keep it personal. Unless you’re new to the bank, we know you. (We
may know you anyway, because we’re from the communities we serve, right down to the board of directors. ) We know your name; chances are we know the name of your kids and your mother-in-law. We don’t have a call center. We have people. You’ll be talking to Barb, or Bobbi or Sheryl or Debbie. We don’t keep you at arm’s length, because keeping you close means that we can both communicate, and with NBDC, we believe that communication is the key to mutual success. Turned off by bailouts that end up in Vegas junkets? Tired of being a number, even when you’re an established customer? We’re right here, waiting for you to come to the right place - NBDC. We’ve got it all, and it’s all about you.
