Monday March 8, 2009 2 (9:50-10:30) 3-1 to 3-6 Matthew Terrana (Native Teacher – NT) Ke-Soon (Korean Teacher – KT) Introduction Lesson (grade 3) Students are introduced to English teachers for the new semester. We will prepare for teacher’s intentions this semester. We will have an introduction, and students will be introduced to the native English speaking teacher. The students will also learn their classmates names and learn how to introduce themselves and greet others through an English song.. Computer with powerpoint, Pens, pencil, book.
Introduction & Daily Routines (3-4 minutes) Do a short introduction and review to prepare the class with the previous day materials and teachers. An example of the introduction will go like this: NT & KT: “Good morning students” Students (Ss) “Good morning Matthew Teacher…” KT: “Hello I’m KeSoon. I am your English teacher, along with Matthew Teacher. Are you ready to study?” Ss “Yes.” NT: “Good. We are going to give you English names today, but first we are going to do our English chant” The NT can prepare the ‘Fun-Fun’ English Chant for the students. Introduction Powerpoint (15mintues) This introduction powerpoint will introduce the NT to the students and explain some things about where the NT is from, what the NT’s hobbies and interests are and show some family pictures of the NT’s family. Memorize Names (10-15 minutes) The students will learn and remember how to say each other’s names in English. They
will practice along with a friend and with the class. Song (10 minutes) The NT & KT will an English song that will go over the phrase “My name is ________” “I’m ______________”, along with ‘hello & hi’. We will practice the song until the class time expires. Wrap-Up Time to finish the class NT “Ok, children we are finished English Class today.” KT “Did you have fun today?” Ss “Yes!!!!” KT “Ok, goodbye students, say goodbye to Matthew Teacher” Ss “Goodbye, goodbye Matthew Teacher NT “Goodbye, see you next time.”
