In Cad I drew the area that the building roughly had to fit into using the rectangle command.
Another rectangle was drawn to show where the building would sit.
This second rectangle was extruded by 12000 to become the basic shape of the building.
After flipping the UCS a 2000 by 2000 rectangle was drawn to show where the opening would sit.
This rectangle was then extruded by 2000.
The extruded form was copied and pasted up the side of the building at regular intervals.
The same extruded form was used to show the openings across the front of the building using copy and paste.
All the openings are now represented by extruded rectangles.
Using the subtract command all of the smaller extruded rectangles were removed from the main form to create openings.
A rectangle was drawn to represent the shading device.
Using extrude the shading device was given thickness.
This extruded form was then copied and pasted down the side of the building.
And across the front of the building.
Using poly line I traced the top of the building, then offset the rectangle by 500. This offset rectangle was then moved vertically up 500 to show the outline of the roof.
Using 3d face I created a surface for the top of the roof.
Surfaces were then created for the sides of the roof.
The finished building was saved as a dxf file and imported into 3dmax so it could be merged with the rest of the scene.
