Java J2EE Stream Orientation

Course Objectives Participants who complete the Java/J2EE stream at ILP are expected to • Be able to know basic Java concepts and write simple Java Programs. • Be able to develop J2EE applications which would include the following: – Design, create, test, deploy and maintain J2EE components. – Apply object oriented analysis and design techniques during development of an application. • Know about the various components like Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, involved in developing J2EE applications. (Participants are not expected to understand advanced features like JMS, JNDI, JavaMail API etc. after this course). • Know about MVC architecture and its usage. • Know about the standard directory structure and various xml files used for server configuration, application configuration, etc. • Be familiar with packaging and deploying a J2EE application. Participants should be familiar with JAR, WAR and EAR files. • Understand any J2EE development environment along with IDE easily (like WSAD in WebSphere). • Know Basic RDBMS Concepts • Write SQL queries in Oracle.

Evaluation Criteria

• Theory Exam – 1 ( 30 marks) Contents Core Java – 20 SQL - 10 Tentative Exam Date - 2 days after core java and Oracle sessions • Lab Exam 1 - (10 marks) Contents Core Java Tentative Exam Date - Next day after Theory Exam -1 • Theory Exam – 2 (20 marks) Contents J2EE Tentative Exam Date - 2 days after J2EE sessions • Viva – (10 marks) Contents Core Java Oracle J2EE Tentative Exam Date - Next day after Theory Exam – 2 • Application Demo and Viva – (10 marks) Tentative Date - 6 working days before release date

Retest • Retest Criteria – Weighted average of theory exam - 1, and theory exam - 2 < 50% – Or Lab evaluation -1 < 50% , participant needs to attend the retest • Course Content – Core Java – J2EE – SQL • Marks ( 30) – Core Java (15 marks) – J2EE (10 marks) – SQL (5 marks) • Tentative Date – 4 days after Viva
