Economic Transformation Initiative GB (ETI-GB) is a Government Funded Programme co-funded by IFAD with the total cost of Rs. 12 billion that will be implemented over a period of 7 years. This aim to improve income, reduce Poverty and malnutrition in rural areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. The development objective is to improve production and productivity through development of additional 50,000 acres of irrigated crop area benefitting around 100,000 small households, improved connectivity to markets through upgrading of 400 kms of farm to market road (shingle compacted) and promotion of demand driven value chain of regional products. ETI-GB invites application from suitable and competent candidates from Baltistan division to fill the following contractual positions. 1

Position Summary Reporting to Resident Engineer BLN on technical matters and Regional coordinator (RCU) on Social matters. The Site Engineer (s) shall discharge duties at their respective sites (Tehsils) and in ETI-GB office (when required). Duties & Responsibilities i) ii)

Supervise the construction activities on irrigation & FMR schemes and land development activities executed by community through SMT. Ensure that work is being carried out by SMT / contractor as per design drawings and Specification particularly the design bed levels of Irrigation and FMR schemes. Maintain record of construction activities of irrigation and FMR schemes. He will maintain photographs of all construction activities and provide to higher office for official record. Ensure required progress of work on Irrigation, FMR schemes and Land development activities. He will ensure full time on site presence of sub engineers during working hours and guide them regarding smooth execution and quality of work. He will further ensure that timely demarcation of lay out of irrigation and FMR schemes is timely provided to community/ SMT so that work may not suffer. Submission of progress reports (daily, fortnightly, weekly and monthly) to Infrastructure Section of ETI-GB. Assist in Checking/ processing of Irrigation and FMR schemes detailed cost estimates in IS ETIGB office as and when required. Coordinate with WMD, SMT, and SMP for effective quality supervision and to achieve desired rate of progress of work on Irrigation schemes. Coordinate with Consultants during field surveys. He will maintain site register and note record of daily activities related to irrigation, FMR schemes and land development activities. He will maintain record of resources deployed to site of work (manpower, equipment and other resources). He will timely inform his higher office regarding any bottlenecks/ issues arises during the execution of work on irrigation, FMR and land

Position Summary

Site Supervisor will supervise the Site under the guidance of the Site Engineer. Duties & Responsibilities

Full time Site Supervision (quality and work progress monitoring) of construction activities of Farm to Market Road (FMR) Scheme assigned to the consultant on daily basis. Site supervisor shall ensure that work on FMR scheme is executed as per approved design drawings, specifications. On ground demarcation of Layout of assigned FMR scheme. Timely reporting issues/problems to Site Engineers for their resolution. Maintain record of manpower, equipment and construction materials involved in construction activities on daily basis. Maintain a site register regarding daily activities on site of work. Coordinate with technical staff in smooth execution of FMR scheme. Guide SMT /Contractor about technical aspects of FMR scheme construction work. i.e. batching, mixing and placement of different concrete classes and plastering work used in the project. Furnish detail of activities/daily progress of FMR scheme. Assist Site Engineer in processing of Bills generated by Site Engineer, SMT regarding execution of work/ work done. Ensure safety protocol measure during the execution of work particularly blasting activities.

The services of Sub engineer can be placed to other project within program districts as per need. Undertake any other duty assigned by Site Engineer related to works.
