IERC Education Foundation and Amistad America Invite you to a fundraiser event in support of Study Abroad Opportunities for undeserved African American and Latino students. African Americans represent 14 percent of all college students. Yet only 3.5 percent participate in study abroad programs on average. The figures are similar for Latino Students. Conversely, 67 percent of all college students are white, yet they participate in education abroad programs at a rate of over 83 percent on average. IERCEF, The Norh Carolina HBCU Study Abroad Consortium, The Cross Cultural Center in Santo Domingo, and Amistad America are partnering to correct this alarming problem. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Bruckner Bar & Grill (www.brucknerbar.com) 2412 3rd Avenue, Bronx New York 10454 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Happy hour prices will be extended until 8:00 for our guests)
Your $20 minimum suggested donation will be fully tax deductible. With your support, we can narrow the opportunity gap and better prepare African American and Latino students for global engagement.
