August 7, 2009 Edward Werner P.O. Box 544 Allentown, NJ 08501 Re: Open Public Records Request W44923 Dear Mr. Werner: This letter serves as a response to your July 30, 2009 document request to the New Jersey Office of the Inspector General with regard to "any and all reports, analyses, and correspondences regarding the Inspector General's investigation of the Victims of Crime Compensation Board, the Victims of Crime Compensation Agency, and/or the Victims of Crime Compensation Office." Your request is denied on the basis that the responsive records pertain to an investigation in progress by a public agency, NJSA 47:1A-3a. Moreover, NJSA 52:15B-13 provides that any documents obtained by the Office of the Inspector General from another public agency during the course of the investigation must be sought from the agency that produced the document to the Office of the Inspector General. Very truly yours,
7h~r~P--Mary Jane Cooper Inspector General of New Jersey
