The project area is mainly uninhabited and as such no families are going to be dislodged. The total land required is 7.674 Hectares out of which 5.766 Hectares is private holdings and 1.908 is forest land. However, the land holding is mainly private. The region near the project area has a thriving tourism industry due to its scenic beauty which attracts people from far and wide, thus the power available from the project will be useful for provide uninterrupted power supply to the area.

Further, during the construction as well as on the long run the project is going to provide employment to the local people of the area. The project site is located in the extreme north part of the state having sparse population. However there is deployment of armed forces having power demand. Further there are plans of the Teesta stage I, II, III projects coming up which will need constructional power which can be supplied by the project. Further the project will be grid connected and thus supply to the local needs of the state. Presently the state is buying about 70% of its peak demand and this project will help the state government to be more self-sufficient I terms of power which means more fund available to undertake other development works. Further, there will be local employment of the people from village during construction as well as after the commissioning of the project. Environmental and Ecological issues
