Human Cloning There are 2 types of Human Cloning. Reproductive cloning is taking the nucleus out of a cell and implanting that into a surrogate cell w/o a nucleus. Therapeutic cloning is using embryonic stem cells to try and cure/prevent diseases. Also, you could grow cells in a lab to replace diseased cells in the body. Why Clone? To help prevent/cure diseases, replace bad cells or create an army of superhumans. How far have people gotten in the cloning field? A handful of people have been able to clone a few cells, but never a full clone of themselves. What ethical problems are there with cloning? You have to kill the embryo in order to do therapeutic cloning, and cloning is messing w/ nature What technological problems are there with cloning? Nobody has been able to successfully clone.
