What Do We In Jesus Do About Evil Rulers By R. Tyler, [email protected] 3/26/05 What do you do about tyrants and oligarchs, judges or rulers or legislators, who make laws and pass judgments on the basis of their own personal baises and priorities, like many of those in the USA who have and show contempt for our precious Constitution and its writers? What do you do about self-willed judges who decree that conscious, alert and responsive humans should be starved to death, like the Nazi judges did to people whose lives had no value according to Nazi values? What do we do when our rulers, legislators, judges and law enforcement agents command us to do that which requires us to disobey the specific, clear and explicit commands of Scripture? What do we do when godless and antiChrist Judges command you not to give your daughter food and drink that would keep her alive? What do you do when the government and its agents tell you to murder your unborn child or go to jail (China)? What do you do when the police, your mother and a doctor agree to starve your coherent, aware, alert and responsive dad to death, your dad who is so depressed he wants to die? What do you do when the state and the school take your minor child across state lines without your permission to help her kill her unborn child? 1. First of all we pray for them according to 1 Tm 2: 1* ¶ I exhort then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people; 2 including kings and all who are in high station, in order that we may live peaceful and tranquil lives with all godliness and gravity. 2. We obey them according to Rom 13 as long as what they tell us to do does not require us to disobey the specific, clear and explicit instructions and commandments of/in the Scriptures (Ezek 17:13-20; Moses & Pharaoh; Acts 4:15-22). +++Pr 8:16 by Me princes rule, and nobles, all the judges of the earth. +++Ex 22:28 Thou shalt not revile the judges, nor curse a prince amongst thy people. +++Jer 27:13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Jehovah hath spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? +++Ezek 17:13 . . . .16 As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily in the place of the king that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him, in the midst of Babylon, shall he die. . . . 20 +++Eze 20:18* And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk not in the statutes of your fathers, neither keep their ordinances, nor

defile yourselves with their idols. 3. When they do evil to others, we are instructed to respectfully, gently and civilly (2 Tim 2:24-26) tell them, expose to them (Ephes 5:7-11), what God says about the evil they are doing, warn them of God's righteous judgment on all evil (Col 1:28) and invite them to turn to Jesus, forsaking and repenting of their evil doing in genuine godly sorrow (2 Cor 7). 4. We are instructed not to avenge ourselves, like Jesus and the Apostles didn't avenge themselves; which includes not avenging the evil done to your loved ones, like Jesus and the Apostles didn't avenge their loved ones who were cruelly executed. +++Rom 12:18 If you can, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with all the world. 19* Do not be revengeful, my dear friends, but give way before anger; for it is written, “‘Revenge belongs to Me: I will pay back,’ says the Lord.” 20 On the contrary, therefore, if your enemy is hungry, give him food; if he is thirsty, quench his thirst. For by doing this you will be heaping burning coals upon his head. 21* Do not be overcome by evil/harm, but overcome the evil/harm with goodness. 5. We must trust and believe His Word that He will avenge us and our loved ones of the evil done to them by evil rulers or judges or enforcement agents, and thank Him in advance for being faithful to justly avenge the evil done, as He has used famine, war/violence, wild beasts (including harmful microorganisms), disease/pestilence and death to do so over the centuries. +++Jer 7:9 What? steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not... 10 then ye come and stand before me, in this house which is called by my name, and say, "We are delivered," --in order to do all these abominations! . . . 15 and I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, all the seed of Ephraim. 16 ¶ And thou, pray not for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, and make not intercession to me; for I will not hear thee +++Jer 23:14 And in the prophets of Jerusalem have I seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in falsehood, and strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none doth return [to God] from his wickedness. They are all become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. +++Ezek 14:12 ¶ And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 13 Son of man, when a land sinneth against me by working unfaithfulness, and I stretch out my hand upon it, and >>>break the staff of the bread thereof, and send famine upon it, and cut off man and beast from it;<<< 14 though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, should be in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith

the Lord Jehovah. . . . . 21 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the >>>sword, and the famine, and the evil beast, and the pestilence,<<< to cut off from it man and beast! +++Jer 48:42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against Jehovah. +++Amos 2:2 And I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerijoth; and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 3 And >>>I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him,<<< saith Jehovah. 4 Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they have despised the law of Jehovah, and have not kept his statutes; and their lies have caused them to err, after which their fathers walked. 5 And I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. +++Re 6:8 And I saw: and behold, a pale horse, and he that sat upon it, his name was Death, and hades followed with him; and authority was given to him over the fourth of the earth >>>to slay with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and by the beasts<<< of the earth. ========== As we have seen with the record number of mountain lion attacks in California, the shark swarms that emptied the Florida beaches this March, the increasing number of deaths from the pestilence of HPV and HCV and HIV in the USA and Africa, increasing cancers, viruses that are capable of killing thousands quickly, organisms becoming antibiotic resistant, the famines in Africa, the sword of warfare and terrorism on every continent on earth ----- these ancient plagues are still alive and well on planet earth --- and available to God to use against the evil people, rulers, judges or enforcers as He so chooses. If God immediately judged evil doers, evil doers would stop doing evil because they don't want to suffer, not because they love God instead of their evil. God wants people to do His will because they Love Him and choose to submit to Him and His will, so He doesn't always make obvious to the evil doers the connection between their evil and His judgment of their evil ---- often allowing there to be decades between their evil and His judgment of their evil. The seventy year judgment of Israel happened after 490 years of disobeying God's command to let the land rest one year out of every 7. Pharaoh and Egypt were judged after sinning against Israel for 400 years. Herod ruled evilly for decades before he was judged. Mao ruled China for decades and killed over 50 million people before he died and went to Hell. 6. Our God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Eze 18:32; Eze 33:11), enlightening every human (born or murdered in the womb -- Jn 1:9), conviciting everyone in the world of their sin and His righteous

judgment of sin (Jn 16:7-11). What He longs for is for us to turn to Him forsaking our sin and agreeing with Him about our sin (Prov 28:13; 2 Cor 7; 1 Jn 1:9). +++Jer 29:10 For thus saith Jehovah: When seventy years shall be accomplished for Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in bringing you back to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you in your latter end a hope. 12 And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you; 13 and ye shall seek me and find me, for ye shall search for me with all your heart, 14 and I will be found of you, saith Jehovah. And I will turn your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again into the place whence I have caused you to be carried away captive. 7. As with Pharaoh, He will harden our hearts into our own way and will only after we have repeatedly hardened our own hearts against Him and His will (Exodus 1-9). Then it is only a matter of time before the hammer of judgment falls on the unrepentant. +++2 Pet2:10 ¶ especially those who, following the promptings of their lower nature, indulge their polluting passions and despise all control. Audacious and self-willed, they feel no awe of the Mighty, maligning them, 11 even where angels, though excelling them in strength and power, do not bring against them a malignant charge before the Lord. 12 These men, however, like animals without reason, intended by nature to be caught and killed--these men, I say, malign those of whom they know nothing, and will assuredly perish through their own corruption, 13 suffering themselves, as the penalty for the suffering that they have inflicted. They think that pleasure consists in the self-indulgence of the moment. They are a stain and a disgrace, indulging, as they do, in their wanton revelry, even while joining you at your feasts. 14 They have eyes only for adulteresses, eyes never tired of sin; they entice weak souls; their minds are trained to covet; they live under a curse. 15 Leaving the straight road, they have gone astray and followed in the steps of Balaam, the son of Beor, who set his heart on the reward for wrong-doing, . . . . 17 These men are like springs without water, or mists driven before a gale; and for them the blackest darkness has been reserved. 18 With boastful and foolish talk, they appeal to the passions of man’s lower nature, and, by their profligacy, entice those who are just escaping from the men who live such misguided lives. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corrupt habits; for a man is the slave of anything to which he gives way. 20 If, after having escaped the polluting influences of the world, through knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, men are again entangled in them, and give way to them,

their last state has become worse than their first. 21 It would, indeed, have been better for them not to have known the Way of Righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn away from the holy Command delivered to them.[1 John 2:19] 22 In their case is seen the truth of the proverb-- ‘A dog returns to what he has vomited’ and ‘A sow after washing to her wallowing-place in the mud.’TCNT Now that's a pretty good description of many judges and legislators in America today, and they have God's hammers --- famine, war/violence, wild beasts (including harmful microorganisms), disease/pestilence and death --- hanging over their heads. But what about America as a nation that has rejected Jesus, mocked His account of creation, defied His commandments and disrespect His people? God is not mocked and I still believe his hammer will be a nuclear attack on our west coast by China, in a war involving Taiwan, the Phillipines, Japan and South Korea. http://groups.google.com/group/PGChristianLivingIssues http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Christian_Life_Issues_Today http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Politics-Patriotism-Events-theBible-Me http://groups.google.com/group/politics-patriotism-events-thebible-me http://groups.myspace.com/PoliticsPatriotismJesusMe http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=83981485182 WhatDoWeInJesusDoAboutEvilRulers
