An Engineering Celebration!
50th Anniversary Hovercraft Challenge Wednesday 15th July 2009 09:30am to 2:30pm Ewart Recreation Ground & Youth Centre
Sponsored by Solent Skill Quest, Tourism South East, Hythe & Dibden Parish Council, and the University of Southampton
To celebrate Sir Christopher Cockerell’s invention of the Hovercraft we are pleased to invite your school to participate in the 50th Anniversary Hovercraft Challenge. Your team of year 9 students, supported by an Engineering Ambassador, will use their Science & Technology Skills to design, build and test their very own Hovercraft, whilst competing against other schools from the South West Hampshire region. The winning team will be invited to attend the Hovercraft celebrations at the end of July and awarded a trophy in recognition of their achievement.
