Michael Antonio Lopez December 03, 2008-January 20, 2009
For Dia de los Muertos I am honoring my son Michael Antonio Lopez. He was born at 10:20, December 3, 2008 at Scripps Mercy Hospital. Michael weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 19 inches long. Michael was a very healthy baby. He looked very much like his father, he had his father’s ears, eyes, hands and feet, he only had mommy’s nose. To me he was the most perfect baby. He was just a baby, but he brought joy to all his family. I am honoring my son because he made a difference in his father’s life and my life as well. He brought sunlight to my life when it was hard to see. When I was having it hard, I thought about him and he made me want to keep going and succeed. Even to this day I think about him when times get rough and I want to give up. I say to myself “I’m not going to give up, I am going to make it through this for you baby.” Because of him, I straightened up my acts, and especially his father’s. For example, before my son came along, my baby’s dad was a gang banger and when Michael came, he stopped because of his son’s well-being. When I was pregnant, I was locked up and I promised him “baby, mommy is going to change, no more getting locked up, just for you.” When I got pregnant I went back to school. My son changed me around a lot, and I am thankful he came into my life even if he was gone to soon. I love my son with all my heart and I will love him forever, until death takes me to his side. “Mi amor te amo con toda mi alma y por siempre viviras en mi corazón” Annette Mojica
