No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave. - Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933) The Pharisee’s attempt to subvert this honor showed their true nature The attempt to silence a man is the greatest honor you can bestow on him. It means you recognize his superiority to yourself. – Joseph Sobran, former staff writer for the National Review We should honor Jesus with everything, our time, our money, our voice, our body (Rom. 12:1-2), our lifestyle, etc. We honor Jesus by obeying His instructions God responds to obedience with provision Obeying His instructions leads to a different way of life The Holy Spirit enables people to change their perspectives so they can creatively visualize everything that God wants to do through them. Paul wrote, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Rom. 12:2) The Holy Spirit teaches us that if people want to see God work in new ways they must be willing to believe God can work greater wonders through their relationships and ministries. Jesus said, "Anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." (John 14:12) A life of commitment
A life wherein His miraculous power may be manifest Where and when should we honor Jesus? Not just in church on Sunday, but at work or school on Monday, etc. How might we dishonor Jesus? “God-filled” moments inspire praise Frequent and sincere praise for Jesus keeps us focused and energized I personally recommend listening to Christian radio stations that play praise and worship music like Christian 107.3 Play praise & worship music in your homes and dance to it with your sons and daughters! Praise demonstrates faith (Ps. 106:12) A spirit-filled person feels compassion for the lost Jesus wept (John 11:35; Luke 19:41-42)
